Frontier Soups Potato Leek Soup Mix, 3.25 OZ

Easy to make and it’s delicious

We love Frontier soups. They’re easy to prepare, excellent for cooks who like to experiment with added items. For those of you that don’t use meat these soups are just as good without it. (Our preferred way is to avoid red meat and try to substitute chicken or turkey from a friend’s organic farm. Some soups are interesting with certain fish also). I’ve sent these to my family and friends who have been as impressed as we are. It’s particularly important to note that even though these soups aren’t sodium free, they have far less sodium than canned soup. I make batches of these soups and freeze them. I always add extra fresh leeks and usually a couple of small chopped potatoes that I parboil or steam. This little addition makes a bit extra for a light lunch at my desk or for an unexpected guest. Try them and use your own inspirational additions. I recently made the Potato Leek soup with lots of fresh Leeks , thin sliced Kale (about 1/4” thin!), and Portuguese Linguica very thinly sliced. Wow! I had made three batches to share with our elderly neighbors and they were asking for seconds! NOTE: Frontier has sold out to Anderson Foods and these soups aren’t what they once were. ALSO: Some unscrupulous sellers on Amazon are purchasing these soups and reselling them for ridiculously high prices. They purchase all they can and by the time they sell the soups they have expired. Use caution please when buying from non Amazon sellers. Receiving a few bags with critters in them was disgusting. I definitely complained and received a refund.

Frontier Soups are a little pricey, but worth it...I haven't tried one yet I didn't like.

Needed salt, because there isn’t any it the package at all, not a huge problem as I have wonderful salt at home. Not having used this before it took some time to adjust the flavors. I just wish there was a suggested amount to use in the directions, I also added some Better than Bouillon. I combined this and some cannellini beans to make a soup. Whipped it up in the Instant Pot, whirled with the Braun Immersion Blender. Called it dinner, then ordered another packet.

I found this product, Frontier Soups, online when I purchased them originally from Thrive Market. This market sells products that one would not normally find locally. It sells products that are healthy and not filled with chemicals. When I tried out some of their products, this one company's soups were really really delicious. And now I can get them from Amazon without paying a fee to join Thrive Market. These soups contain no chemicals and have only ingredients that you would normally use if you were starting from scratch. But you don't have to start from scratch. Sometimes you do have to add one or two ingredients, but honestly it is not that hard! And there are suggestions to make the soups more interesting. They make lots of flavors and I will be ordering them all winter. I am not crazy about cooking so I love these!

Fabulous home cooked flavors. I add clams on occasion. A little expensive so I don't buy it as often as I would like. But, very easy to make.

Great soup! If you are planning to use this soup for a meal you might want to add more canned potatoes. That’s what we did. You could use ( as is) for a starter to a meal. Nice texture. Best served immediately. I will buy this product again.

I have made the potato/leek soup a number of times. It is very good, fast and easy. I used veggie bouillon cubes for the stock. I omitted the cream and it was still delicious. I smash up the potatoes so it seems "creamy." I have also thrown in various other veggies I have on hand. Always comes out good.
