A: It is RF signal receiver.

A: I think it is RF.  I had the module mounted on the back of a board and was able to change colors from the front without being able to view the module.

Thanks for question. As the input of the light engine is DC12V,if the output voltage of your USB adapter is DC12V,then it will be okay.
