Great condition for being as old as it is
The Final Fantasy X-2 Official Strategy Guide is a great walk through for newcomers to the final fantasy world or even veterans such as myself. This book includes everything from fantastic artwork, character back stories, navigating necessary battle systems all the way to mini games and it's very own monster manual. I have read other reviews of people complaining there are flaws, while I have found very minor spelling errors there are no flaws within this guide worth mentioning for a true die hard Final Fantasy fanatic. I have used this guide front to back since this game was first released and it served me well.If you are looking for a guide to hold your hand and walk you through each and every step, then this probably isn't for you because there are secret hidden gems within the game that normal gamers will find and appreciate outside the scope of any guide. That is, after all, the entire point of true gaming. Also, if you have the new FFX/FFX-2 HD version of the game then you WILL need the accompanying strat guide because this guide does not have the new additions that the HD has.Shipping was faster than the estimated delivery date, which was great! This particular book is in far better condition than my first one was and it looks nearly brand new complete with the poster it came with, and when it comes to strat. guides that is kind of rare among used guides. Needless to say I was more than pleased with this purchase.

Has Some Flaws, But Really Quite Good
I'm just going to give it straight --- the Final Fantasy X-2 Official Strategy Guide has a few major flaws and omissions, but overall it's really quite helpful and useful and kind of a fun read too.The guide is divided into several sections. It starts with a basic introduction of the game and three major characters --- Yuna, Rikku and Paine. It then goes with complete information about dresspheres and Garment Grids, followed by basic strategy information and then a listing of items and accessories. After that is a detailed section-by-section guide to all of the chapters of the game. Throughout these are detailed instructions, pictures for references and (mostly) useful boss strategies. You'll also find tip boxes on things to watch out for, special scenes to play and secret items to grab. At the end of this section is a quick reference to getting 100% completion in one playthrough (something I *never ever* recommend trying). Next up are sections devoted to the games many sidequests and mini-games. Finally, there's a complete listing of all of the fiends and bosses. Also included is a nice pullout posting featuring YRP in their Mascot outfits, with charts for the Lady Luck and Alchemist dressphers on the flip side. All of this stuff is absolutely great. I still use it fairly often and it's a very convenient reference. The pictures are really the icing on the cake --- this is very difficult when viewing any online reference. The only problem is that if you rely on this guide alone, your sunk. This guide contains several major errors that probably could have been caught if they had been a bit more careful in their testing in proofreading. One of the most major errors is it saying that you need to get Episode Complete in every area except Bevelle in Chapter 5 in order to get Mascot. This is patently wrong --- you must get Episode Complete in *every* area including Bevelle in order to get Mascot. Then, later it says that if you ally with New Yevon, you'll get Episode Complete for Bevelle in Chapter 5, but if you allied with the Youth League, you won't. Again, this is patently false --- Bevelle Episode Complete is *not* tied to which group you ally with, but rather whether or not you talk with Isaaru on the CommSphere in Chapter 4 and inform him of Bevelle's situation. Other problems include charts with omissions, misspellings, or other minor inaccuracies. The guide also only gives an at-a-glance look at the game's toughest dungeon. So is this worth your money? Definitely! But if you're at all uncertain of something, make sure you double-check online to make sure you're not being misled by one of the guide's inaccuracies.

Happy to have it but also mad about how it is
I know the book is old but this is not what I thought I was getting. Why did I pay as much as people that got the same book but there book looks much better? I am happy I can still use it but just not what I thought I was getting. But I also know it could have been much worse.

so helpful
As with most final fantasy games, this one is too involved for me to do EVERYTHING 100%. This strategy guide was quite helpful. I found myself at times stopping and flipping back and forth, but this was minimal for me. I read ff strategy guides like novels, front to back all the way through. I'm a gamer, and ff is my passion. I have numerous ff guides and this one is pretty good for me, of course I am easy to please when it comes to ff. I liked ff x guide better, but that's because in x-2 you can go wherever you want, there's rarely a set direction as the storyline continues. Giving that, I think the guide makers did well in not making this confusing. I'm happy with this one

Great
I bought this to replace the one that a ex friend of mine from middle school stole, and it came in pretty good condition. The back cover has a fold about as long as the paine section on the front cover, but I bought it used so i expected to get not-pristine condition. (Plus the seller sent along a note apologizing and I think there was a free gift in there but i'm not sure, i mostly remember the note - this was awhile ago) Everything is there including the poster of all the dresspheres and stats. It really is great and if you don't care about minor damage, save money and buy it used. If you want it in perfect condition then buy new and you don't have that possible worry ;P

Worth it.
I have played quite a few Final Fantasy PlayStation games and what little guiding you need can be found for free online. However, I found having the official guide useful for Final Fantasy X-2 because if you don't do things in the right order you can miss the vast majority of the game or die really quickly. In fact, there are so many things that need to be done a certain way to unlock everything in the game that the guide was constantly used. However, strategy guides always take a bit away from the actual fun. I will play the game again without using the guide and just enjoy the game now that I know which hotspots drag you into a new chapter and cause you to miss anything you have not yet completed in the previous chapter.

Pretty helpful...but forgetful
This book is pretty good, comes with a poster and very detailed stats and charts for every job and character. However, they do the old, wait till you've already done something before telling you you shoulden't have done it thing that alot of books do.Other than that, a very good book.
