Uneven tamping or poor distribution can cause channeling and sprays. It’s great for learning, but beginners may find a spouted portafilter easier to use, especially with pre-ground coffee. **Q: How to prevent coffee from spraying everywhere?** A: Spraying is caused by channeling. To prevent it, use a WDT tool for even distribution, tamp consistently, and grind fresh coffee to the correct size. Smaller doses (12-14g) can also help as you refine your technique. **Q: Why doesn’t my bottomless portafilter create a “perfect waterfall” like coffee influencers?** A: The “perfect waterfall” requires flawless puck prep, correct grind size, and consistent pressure. Even baristas face spraying. Focus on even distribution, proper tamping, and grind adjustments. With practice, your results will improve. **Q: Do I need special tools for a bottomless portafilter?** A: Tools like a WDT tool, precision tamper, and quality grinder help improve results. Optional tools like a puck screen or leveler can enhance consistency, but they aren’t essential for beginners. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Quality 💯 *by A***S on July 9, 2026* Exactly as advertised, great build quality.
