World War 2 school project
I brought this for my Son who was learning all about WW2 in year 6 at school. He had a term project to complete and so I decided that I would purchase this so he could put it together and also write a short piece about the actual plane. The instructions were fairly easy to follow. I thought some of the pieces where teeny tiny but my son enjoyed putting it together. Next time think I will invest in actual modelling glue though as super glue is a wee bit tacky for the job lol. My son didn't enjoy that some pieces glued themselves to his fingers rather than to the actual bit of model......ooops lol. No disasters though!A huge success and one completed project.

An ace kit!
A huge leap over the old Mk.IX kit in every way!I built one of these recently and loved every second of it - so much so that I bought two more!It deserves to be a classic - easy to put together for a novice, but with more than enough scope for an expert to improve upon it.

Pretty Good for the Price
While the Spitfire is one of the most famous aircraft in history, certain Marks have been under-represented in the plastic model market. Most 1/72 kits are of the Mark I or V.This is a new release, not to be confused with the truly ancient and awful Airfix Mark IX which is usually sold as 'Johnnie Johnson's' JE-J. This is a new mould, looks accurate and is reasonably priced. However, there's not much in the way of interior, which is strange given the excellent cockpit in the new Airfix Mark XIX. Two nice decal options and colour schemes are provided, although some of the decals are out of register. Many after market decals are around anyway.I enjoyed building this and it's better value than the Hasegawa kits, which are getting pretty scarce anyway.Well done Airfix
