The Chuwi Hi9 has an 8.4 inch screen, but the Hi9 Air’s is 10.1 inches.I’m please to see an impressive spec-sheet too. Boasting the deca-core Helio X20 CPU, 4GB RAM, high resolution screen and massive battery this is a well kitted out machine.You don’t often find the latest and greatest CPUs in tablets. Most tablets rarely stray out of what would be mid-range territory for a smartphone, and the Chuwi Hi9 Air is no exception. Chuwi pair the ageing deca-core MediaTek X20 CPU with 4GB RAM. The build is mostly metal on the rear, only the removable top is plastic and the paint is a very fingerprint prone matte coating. The screen is fully laminated with 2.5D glass and a sharp 2560 x 1600 resolution giving it a 16:10 aspect ratio. The battery is 8000mAh and is good for up to 7-8 hours of light use. Gaming this will drop down to 4-5 hours depending on the game and screen brightness used. The 8000mAh battery exceeded my expectations considering the size of the screen and the fact that the Helio X20 is an older 20nm CPU. One of my primary uses for the tablet was to watch movies on my regular 4.5 hour train journey from Southampton to Preston, and the Hi9 Air was able to cope with this and still report 27% battery life. Given the low budget on this tablet, I don’t think that I’m disappointed. It’s probably not going to replace my iPad as my daily driver, but something that I’ll use around the house. I hesitate to pay the RRP for this tablet, but I don’t think that I’ve seen it at that price on most sites. It’s a great little tablet to have for browsing the internet, streaming media or playing a few light games.

All seemed to be going well, the tablet worked well albeit with some initial niggles over the battery life. But that battery life deteriorated significantly to the point where it was needing to charge overnight for less than 4 hours of usage. Ultimately, due to the prolonged and repeated charging, the charger port actually broke! Despite multiple emails back and forth with the vendor, the best they could offer was to sell me a replacement charger port and for me to find a repair shop nearby that would attempt to fix it! Upshot, I'm now left with a tablet that I can't charge in less than 12 months of use. Would NOT recommend.

I bought this as I have to go away on a trip where it won't be possible to take my laptop. I basically need all the Google services (Mail, Drive, Calendar etc) for both personal AND a managed work GSuite account. Plus a handful of straightforward games for long flights and Netflix/Prime Video. I'm not going to lie, I wanted to buy another iPad but head got better of heart so I bought this at half the price. I've only had it open a few hours, but impressed so far. Stock Android as far as I can tell, 8.0, seems smooth. Easy to get my GMail, Docs, Sheets etc all synced up. Android and the device were happy to setup my Work profile and the associated "firewalled" apps. Screen is excellent for reading and so on.Photo image quality seemed good. I am no expert, but the colours seems a little over saturated to me on the few I looked at, it seemed common across many images. Again, it's no way a deal breaker, and it might be in settings. Hooked it up to an Arteck Bluetooth 3.0 keyboard and that worked just fine, will suit me for the text I have to do. I'm not going to agonise over battery life an hour or two here or there, I always tend to carry a USB battery pack. i have no experience of this so far after a few hours. I needed it quick, so stuffed it in a generic Universal cover. I wish I could get a fitted one, but delivery was going to be way longer than I have. Search "Vanctec Universal Tablet Case 10 inch, Tablet Case 10 Inch," it fits in that, but annoyingly the Micro USB is covered by the uppermost retainer , so the tablet has to be pushed about 1cm off centre of the case to get access. You can see how the case mounts the tablet in my pic. If you are the kind of person who tends to need to ask for help from others to setup tech, this might not be for you. It's unlikely you will find any meaningful tech support or even perhaps upgrades. If you are the kind of person who gets asked to help... you'll be fine. Limited english instructions, no real english plug (an EU plug supplied) - but hey, I have dozens of USB cables and "hub" chargers in a few places in the house, no issues there for me. No buyers regret in the first 6h at least!!! Paid for with my own money so give me a thumbs up if helpful!! Have a good day!

Terrible wifi performance, buttons in the most awkward place, and the screen will start to burn in if you leave it on. Batteries puffed up and popped the back off after about 18 months. Bluetooth performance quite good as is the processor. It's a mixed bag, they cut back one too many corners I think.

A tablet of very good quality but affordable for anyone. At first glance you can see the very good quality of the materials and the attention to detail. The lithium battery has a long standby time and a good working life. Also, with the 13 MP camera we can take quality pictures, and with the 5 MP we can make a video call with a clear image. The 2K display, which is one of the most advanced at the moment, along with the 2.3 GHz processor, is the perfect combination for games and movies. This tablet comes packaged with care and accompanied by the adapter for UK. All this quality package has a low price, so a very good value for money

By "flawed" I mean "much better than most tablets from seemingly equivalent brands". This tablet positively shines in comparison to the competition available here on Amazon. So what's wrong with it? Mine came without a 3-pin UK plug/charger. The vendor initially promised to send me one, but sent me a dubious adapter that didn't even fit and now keeps telling me to buy my own. If I wanted to buy my own charger I could have bought the tablet elsewhere and saved around 50 quid. I bought at Amazon at a higher price expecting higher service. Next up might be a flaw compared to other tablets OR an advantage, depending on your point of view. The WiFi mac address is randomised every time you turn WiFi on. This looks like it may be the result of an idea Google has about security - randomising the mac address makes it harder for "bad people" to track you by your tablet. On the negative side it makes it MUCH harder to use networks that identify you by your tablet's mac address - paid-for WiFi, Hotel WiFi, Restaurant WiFi or your own home WiFi networks might be examples. Otherwise, speed seems good and so far (fingers crossed) micro SD card support looks to be superb (as in it's fast and seems to be reliable - a HUGE improvement compared to products from various alternative vendors). The screen looks superb and the tablet feels solid. As disappointed as I am with the mac address issue the rest of the tablet holds up so very well so far (OK, I've had it two days now) that I am really, REALLY pleased that I chose to get this device rather than any other option. If the mac address isn't an issue for you, consider it - but bear in mind the warranty/support from the supplier vs the price. Oh yes - the flap that conceals the SD card and twin SIM card sockets is a little flimsy - but as I don't imagine I will open it many times it doesn't look like it will be a problem either.

I got the tablet at about 15h00 on Saturday. Plugged it in to charge it. It arrived charged about 94% when it got to 100% I then sat down to login. It crashed approximately once every minute. It just kept restarting. I would guesstimate it restarted of its on accord about 20 times before I got to the home screen. I finally got onto the home-screen and then it proceeded to crash every time I moved the cursor or clicked on something. By crashed I mean it restarted. I have not been able to use this tablet at all. I tried a hard factory reset by holding down power and volume down button and started again and had the exact same problem. Amazon have kindly accepted my request to return this piece of junk. I should add I work as an IT manager, I have owned several tablets in the past. Most recently a Samsung and a Fusion5. Never had a problem with them. I will post this back to Amazon next Saturday and have already ordered a replacement from another manufacturer for less money. I have no confidence in this company and would advise people to avoid this and any other products. Do a google for Chuwi keeps restarting. Its obviously a common problem. The phrase quality control springs to mind
