This has a VERY low heat threshold, the tip melted/lost its shape as I was loosening a loaf of bread from the pan. Mind you the pan was warm but had been out of the oven for a few minutes. Why would a tool made for the kitchen be made with plastic that isn’t somewhat heat resistant? I would return it if I hadn’t trimmed the tip to try to use it for other things. I’m very disappointed.

I really like this knife, but it has one small problem ... it is heat-sensitive. Today, I decided I wanted my gingerbread warm, so soon after taking it out of the oven, I cut it. Unfortunately, now the tip of the knife is warped. Moral: 5*, but only if you avoid cutting hot things with it.

Bought this specifically for getting cakes/brownies out of Teflon coated pans.Works perfectly on angel food cake pan.

This knife is very sturdy and will not scratch my plastic cake carrier. I bake a lot of cakes and carry them to parties and people would use regular knives and scratch my carrier. With this knife, I have no more worries! It cuts very cleanly and you can even turn it on its side and use it to serve a piece of cake!
