Clean and Gentle Powder Laundry Detergent, Unscented, 68 Loads, 77 oz

I switched to Tide Clean & Gentle Powder Detergent because we wanted something that cleans like Tide but is easier on sensitive skin. After several weeks of use, I’m impressed. It removes everyday stains (sweat, food, light mud) and keeps whites bright without leaving that heavy “perfume” smell some detergents have. The scent is very mild and doesn’t linger on clothes, which is exactly what I wanted. I also prefer powder for value and shelf life, and this one dissolves well as long as you don’t overload and you add it properly (I toss it in as the water starts filling, then add clothes). No irritation issues in our house so far, and towels and workout clothes come out feeling clean—not coated. Pros: Gentle on sensitive skin, minimal fragrance Cleans really well (especially everyday loads) Good value vs. many “sensitive” detergents Clothes feel clean, not overly softened or scented Cons: Like most powders, can clump if you dump it on top of dry clothes Might need warm water for best dissolution on very cold cycles Overall, this is a great “best of both worlds” detergent—Tide-level cleaning with a much more skin-friendly, low-scent experience. I’d absolutely buy it again.

We own a small airbnb and I do all the laundry for the turnovers. It's a LOT of laundry. A lot. I did a lot of research while I was deciding what detergent I'd like to use for the turnover work. For our personal laundry, we use a scented, natural detergent that's clean and environmentally-friendly. It works for our personal needs. For the Airbnb, though, I needed something that could handle heavier use, frequent washing, and the occasional stain without being loaded with unnecessary fragrance. Enter Tide Clean and Gentle Powder. Even though I think liquid would be easier to use in our washer, I prefer using the powder because it also includes oxygen bleach which would work harder for our laundry needs. It has not disappointed. I've read plenty of horror stories of airbnb hosts that get stained laundry and can't remove stains, but honestly, Tide Clean and Gentle is SO good that in over a year of hosting, I haven't lost a set of sheets yet. Kind of amazing. I’ve read plenty of horror stories from Airbnb hosts about permanently stained sheets and towels, but in more than a year of hosting, I have not had to retire a single set of sheets because of stains. That is honestly kind of amazing. It keeps our sheets white, our towels looking beautiful and fluffy, and everything comes out smelling simply clean rather than heavily fragranced. For us, Tide Clean and Gentle has genuinely changed the way I feel about turnover laundry. I rely on it every single week and will absolutely keep purchasing it.

I tried the super expensive detergents made for cloth diapers and they didn’t work as well as this stuff. It works amazing, no ammonia smell left at all and it’s affordable. Works with our moderate hard water.

Hey Tide - this stuff isn't Clean & Gentle!! It smells like old lady grandma perfume. It made me nauseous and gave me a headache when I was doin laundry - the smell doesn't even rinse out of my clothes. What was wrong with the old UNSCENTED version??? I don't want me or my clothes smellin like anything or anyone - especially Grandma. This is gettin returned.

I love this detergent so much, only usurped by tide free and clear odor refresh, however if you have skin issues with the odor refresh version this one is perfect. The issue I had was that I kept looking for a free and clear that would be sensitive skin friendly, but every time they would never actually leave my clothes feeling like they actually got clean. This immediately solved both of my problems. My sensitive skin stopped breaking out and from personal experience this detergent performs well for actually cleaning. 10/10 I have and will continue to buy again.

This works a whole lot better than liquid Tide. I'm extremely sensitive and needed to remove fragrance from something I purchased at a thrift store. I tried 3 different detergents with zero success. This worked. Not only was the fragrance removed, the amount of crud removed was amazing. Thank you Tide fir continuing to make this product. Wish it were in local stores.

I feel like I've tried a zillion laundry detergents looking for one that is a) a powder, b) gentle on sensitive skin, c) actually cleans my clothes really well. Tide Clean and Gentle Powder is coming close to being perfect. It definitely does a better job on my kid's softball uniform and oily kitchen towels than any of the eco-brands I've tried (maybe it's the lipase?). I really like that it's a powder, and I'm not paying for a plastic bottle or a jug of mostly-water. There are a couple of drawbacks for me: I think it's a pretty strong detergent that might be fading the colors/finish of my fabrics. I use a small amount and double-rinse, but I still think my colors aren't coming out quite as bright. My whites look great. There is a fragrance. It's light and pleasant, but I don't think it's quite as gentle on my sensitive skin (with eczema) as other brands' free and clear products. I feel like I've had a little minor irritation on my face since I started using it. Look - I wish it was even more eco-conscious, and I wish it was completely fragrance free. But until I find a really eco-friendly, free and clear product that cleans as well as this one does, I'll be using Tide.

I've used this detergent for more years than I can remember and it is the best especially in this form. I hardly have to use spot remover when using this and no scents aggravate my nose or skin. Scented products irritate my skin horribly so an unscented detergent that cleans so well seems like a true blessing. For some reason the other forms of this detergent didn't work as well although why I have no idea. This one doesn't get out every spot or stain on its own but comes very close. So, thank you Tide for making my life easier. I wish there were more things I could say this about.
