Well this hinges work great for my overhead cabinet door. they hold up great and for me it was fairly easy to install at least for me. However, this is the kicker the directions are about as hilarious as I ever seen. Someone totally lacks command of the English language. Use the measurements for placement of the hinges but if you can follow the directions, my hat is off to ya. Posted a copy of the directions for a good laugh!

Like everyone has said the instructions are terrible. The rod isn't pushing in and out at all. Can't figure out how to release it.

I used these for a heavy toy chest lid and they are more than strong enough. I'm actually considering using one because two is a little too strong. The instructions are terrible, there's no direction on how to intepret the measurements and if you follow them you'll likely end up with a door or lid that won't shut. I had to go to youtube to find someone to explain how these kind of hinges work. But the piston itself is fine, no problems with the strength or build quality.

Just did not work where I needed them

I like the length, is the shortest I could find for my project.also when the plug fasteners are removed, the rod can be screwed in.
