Microsoft Works 9.0

I have read so many reviews on this particular software. A lot of them were disappointed that they received an OEM edition of it. If you did, it probably is your own fault for not asking the seller about what they are selling and if the price seemed too cheap, you could go back to the old saying of "buyer beware" - you get what you paid for. I did my homework and did my research BEFORE I made the purchase. I contacted the seller and found out the ones he was selling WERE NOT OEM editions, but in fact they were brand new and sealed in the box that looks just like the picture. He told me this version would work with my Windows 7 (and he was correct).Now on to the product - Microsoft Works 9:I had just set up a brand new HP computer with Windows 7, for which I bought and loaded the Microsoft Office Home & Student, and was having issues with many of my documents (which were spreadsheets or documents with Letterhead) that I had created in the old Works software. They just wouldn't plane open up or if they did, they actually opened up as one of my Word documents instead of the Works spreadsheets or Letterheads that should have opened up. This new software arrived today and I immediately loaded it to the computer. All of these documents now work and open as they should (on some of them I had to go and first tell them to "open with" and chose the Works Spreadsheet. I have found no issues with installing this software on my Windows 7 computer.Again take the time to do your homework first - it will always pay off in the end!

I am THRILLED to have been able to easily Install WORKS 9.0 on my new Desktop Computer using the included CD, after being told over and over and over again that "'Microsoft Windows 10 no longer supports Works". Well, I'm here to tell you that you do not have to lose the Files you have created, edited, printed, etc.... for years and years of your life, because this Program loads beautifully into your Computer, and you are READY TO GO!!!! I am THRILLED to report that I am fully able to UTILIZE Works 9.0 for every File/Document I have ever used, and I am also able to create new Works 'Word Processing Documents' to my heart's desire. Thank You for having this CD still available in today's world to help me get on with my life!!!!

For many years I had been using the Microsoft software, Works. The last operating one was Works 7. I was very sorry when last year, when installing my Windows 10 PC, I had the information that such a program was no longer supported by Microsoft.The Microsoft Access I installed was very complicated for my CD and DVD data base.Fortunately I found Microsoft Works 9 on Amazon. Installation on my PC was very simple. The program works perfectly, so I was finally able to seamlessly open my Works data base.An installation question I asked the vendor, was answered immediately. This is the LAST version of Works from Microsoft, as they quit making it. It runs okay in Windows 7. You may still be able to find some copies available in the supply chain, if you decide to get it. However, Microsoft's support for this program is extremely limited, and if you click on support links inside the program, you end up at a Microsoft Site where their "support" is for you to buy Microsoft Office! Main issue with this program is that apparently the File Format of files created by the programs in Works, is their Files are of a Proprietary Format that can ONLY be read by another Works Program! As far as I know, no other Program or File Converter Utility can make files created by Works readable by other Microsoft Programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. One odd peculiarity about the program, is it includes a PowerPoint file viewer that is DIFFERENT from Microsoft's Free Downloadable Powerpoint Viewer! One is called Microsoft Office Power Point Viewer, and the other, just PowerPoint Viewer. So this discontinued program may be mostly just useful for Nostalgia, as it reminds me of the early days of Computing!

After struggling with Microsoft Word 2007, I immediately ordered Microsoft Works 9.0 simply because it is easy to handle and I love some of the updates that has been added. I love the way it saves your letters and documents. It has a lot of other great features as well. You can make your own personal stationary, all occasion cards, budgets, and personal business forms etc. I especially love the history tab which helps me to find all of my letter/documents or anything else that I might have saved. It is easy to change letter size, and style or to print letters in different color ink.When I bought a new computer it came with microsoft office word 2007. It was too complicated when you just want a simply letter or want to add headers and footers to your letter. I will have to take a class or take some time to learn microsoft word 2007. That is what I love about Microsoft Works 9.0 it is very easy to manuver without a lot of reading and studying. For me, it is self explanatory. Although, almost every company and most of my teachers wants me to use microsoft office word 2007, I generally get permission to use Microsoft Works 9.0 because Microsoft Word 2007 is too time consuming if you don't know how to use it or you don't have the time to learn it -- it becomes a waste of time.Yes, I would highly recommend Microsoft Works 9.0 because it is a great product.

I had Works8 running on Windows 10 Pro but after a disc failure and reinstallation of Windows10 Home I lost the programme...I bought Works9 from a dealer (now seen same is cheaper on eBay!!) in order to ensure it was a genuine copy.Didn't want to risk buying a cheap "only for distribution with a new pc" version.It loaded on in minutes and appears fully compataible........all my Works Database and Word Processor files are accessible again.I like the Works database as it is far easier to use then Access which i just cannot understand!

I really love this word processing package. After experiencing the word for windows programmes that date from 1996, this works programme takes me back to the good old days when the programme was simple to use. No more shelved letters. The only omission is that it does not have an automatic save. But as I no longer write long documents, this is no longer an important attribute. The other featur is that it is not colourful, but then plain colours do not cause a distraction.

so far very satisfied, I like this programme and would hate to lose it. the parcel arrived later than it should, but the seller downloaded the programme for me to use so very happy with the service..

I used to have works8 on my computer but when windows10 came along it would no longer load up. So I bought works9 and it loaded up easy and everything is now ok.

Perfect! Works fine with windows 10.
