The Only Phone Case Brand I Trust
I’ve been a loyal Spigen customer since my iPhone X, and I honestly can’t imagine buying another phone case. Over the years, I’ve owned several Spigen Tough Armor cases, and they have never let me down. I can’t count how many times this case has saved my phone from drops that could have easily cost me hundreds of dollars in repairs or even a replacement. Every time I’ve picked up my phone after a bad fall, it’s come away without a scratch. What I love most is that it offers outstanding protection without making the phone feel bulky. It doesn’t dramatically change the size or ergonomics of the phone, so it’s still comfortable to hold and use every day. You get the peace of mind of a rugged case without sacrificing the sleek feel of your iPhone. The buttons remain responsive, the fit is perfect, and the overall build quality is excellent. Spigen has consistently delivered the same high level of quality year after year, which is why I keep coming back every time I upgrade my phone. If you’re looking for a case that combines durability, comfort, and long-term reliability, I highly recommend the Tough Armor series. It’s one of those purchases that can easily pay for itself the first time you accidentally drop your phone.

Simple, well engineered product that will protect your phone in most every circumstance - see *EDIT
If you’re a fan of a simple, well engineered product that will protect your phone in most every “usual” circumstance you will be pleased with this case. My best compliment is that the case becomes a non-entity, unnoticed background piece of equipment with every mechanically functioning piece of the phone operating and “feeling” like it’s operating well. I ordered multiple “inexpensive” cases covering a range from really inexpensive, middling inexpensive to the cost of this case (all of which were frequently purchased cases with 4.5-4.6 stars) to compare and this case was the only one that I felt comfortable using considering a good history of past incidents with phones and the level of protection that would likely leave the phone undamaged. The other cases were beneath my comfort level of protection and they obviously weren’t as well engineered nor designed to protect as well as this Spigen one. I am planning to use this case until sometime in the distant future when it wears out or I get a new phone. There is nothing obviously wrong with this case to indicate it won’t last as long as the phone or perhaps it becomes cosmetically unappealing. I am not a believer that a case needs to be the be all to end all piece of equipment. I could nitpick about the fact it’s not hermetically sealed so periodically I will likely need to take it off to clean dirt and dust out but again there is nothing poorly designed that is going to encourage lots of dirt and dust to accumulate. The charging port is thoughtfully designed and from my experience shouldn’t have any issues with whatever aftermarket charging cord. The new side camera control button is readily accessible and the opening designed into the case is smooth and comfortable. I see this opening being referred to as a “cut-out” but that’s inaccurate as it is simply a well-designed opening for that camera feature. I was somewhat “anxious” about the “cut-out” as opposed to those other cases offering a completely covered case with some sort of touch-sensitive covering in that area and I am pleased that I do not have to worry about that as an ongoing potential failure point as I use the phone. I am also using an inexpensive (but amazingly nice!) laminated screen protector and camera lens protector and neither product interferes with the installation or function of the other. I can’t speak about using the “stand” but it is smoothly integrated into the back of the case and easy enough to open out. It’s not anything that you could lean your weight on by any means (it’s just a puny piece of plastic) but on a smooth surface under controlled conditions it will work fine. I can see that this part could reasonably be considered a weak spot (if somebody accidentally stumbled and put their hand on the phone the stand will break) but under very controlled conditions it will prop the long side of the phone up fine. It’s not designed to hold the phone up in the direction that you usually hold the phone while talking on it. Two light gripes are that the back is slippery-er than I would have liked and that the magnetic sticking power for my car phone holder is not strong enough. I’m not overly concerned as none of my previous cases were strong enough without an added slim piece of metal sticker for the magnet sticking. And if I continue to find problems with the slippery-ness (it’s becoming less bothersome as I use the case) I’ll just add another sticker of some sort for grip. *EDIT#1 - after about a month of use I have one criticism that is probably APPPLE’s fault but I’ll list it here. Everything previous is still very valid, I really am pleased with the case. The issue is that the power button and the opposite side volume up button are just too damn close in vertical orientation such that you either close/lock the phone when trying to increase volume or inadvertently take a screen shot when trying to operate either function button. Not sure if Spigen could do anything about it because of the Apple phone design but maybe a case manufacturer could scooch the power button down a teensy bit and solve the apple design problem but I’m not sure if that could be possible given the space available and where the naked Apple button needs to be pressed for proper operation. Frankly I’m not very impressed at all with this Apple phone as any real improvement over the SE3 that I “upgraded” from. Such is life. EDIT #2: 3/2026 - Still well pleased with the case, it still “looks” as new and has performed its job well in casual drops. I definitely will not be needing to change or upgrade this case. The slipperiness I encountered when brand new is gone so no worries on that concern. My ongoing issue/ complaint is that in putting phone in my pocket I frequently (if not concentrating about it) will hit the side power button and/or one of the volume buttons which will cause auto -dialing of a random phone contact OR take a screenshot. It’s because there isn’t enough ready room at the top of the phone to grab it securely enough to shove it in your pocket. If you concentrate and are conscious in placing your fingers it’s manageable but it does irritate me every time I accidentally activate one or both buttons.

Solid phone case
Great fit, looks good. A bit difficult to easily see the up and down buttons on the left side without looking at it. A bit of texture on them would have made this perfect. But it holds up so well I gave it 5 stars.

Poorly Designed Kickstand
Super nice case, camera button works perfectly, material is pretty nice on the hands, and it feels solid and protected. The kickstand is awful. It does prop the phone up, but if you use it more than a dozen times it’ll bend and not fit right to flatten out into the case, and it’ll eventually even loosen the bits that hold it in.

The Perfect Case
I tried OtterBox Symmetry, Defender, Pelican Protector, and the other Spigen cases. Of all the cases I tried, this was the winner and it wasn't close. Pro's: + Perfected design. Spigen has been using this design for years, and it just looks great and works well. It's genuinely such a premium looking case. + Fantastic materials. This is not a made in China, TEMU-special. This is designed in the USA and manufactured in South Korea. Material quality is superb - I don't know how they did it honestly. This is not the typical squishy, malleable TPU & of all the cases I tested (OtterBox, Pelican, other Spigen), this one feels the most high quality by an order of magnitude. + Protective enough in the right places. For example, the ridge around the screen is tall enough that it extends past a glass screen protector, it has a fully covered camera plateau (personal preference for me to have it covered with ScratchGate), and a ridge to protect your lenses. + Button feel. This is a big one for iPhones with the camera button & I can report that it works well here. The rest of the buttons are true perfection - they genuinely feel nicer through this case than without it. Many cases have the action button even with or protruding further than the volume rocker which caused me to frequently press it accidentally when trying to increase volume. This case, thankfully, has the action button slightly recessed with an aggressive texture to it. + MagSafe. Magnets are strong, case isn't so thick that you lose too much efficiency. + Price. I don't know why this can be had for $20 when everything else is $50+. Cons: - Kickstand. If I had to give one nitpick on the ToughArmor, it would be the kickstand. It's a clever design but it's not something I use much and does strike me as a potential failure point down the road, especially if you're using it frequently. It doesn't feel cheap though, and I am thankful that it is unobtrusive to the design and aesthetic of the case. Also in case you are wondering: you are unable to use MagSafe while the phone is propped up with the kickstand.

The perfect rugged case
For a tough phone case this is incredibly stealthy. Most of the time I barely notice it but when I almost drop my phone I am quickly reminded by its rugged looks that I took the necessary precaution. Excellent feel, just the right grip and smooth. I am very happy with this case. Super easy to install and remove. The color blends in perfectly with the phone. Very lightweight as well. The buttons respond like they are part of the phone. Top notch!

Best hybrid design case I have yet found for iphone 11
This was the 7th case I tried for my iPhone 11 after cracking its screen less than two months after first getting it. It is true hybrid case with a polycarbonate stiff plastic shell around the body which covers the shock resistant TPU part of the case that acts like a stiff but flexible boot to cover everything but the front screen and the camera lenses on the back. The front edge is about 2 mm raised above the level of the screen itself which helps protect the screen in drops. This can be augmented by adding a tempered glass shield, which fits very nicely over the screen without impacting the fitting of the case itself. The back is thick enough at about 3mm to allow the camera lenses, normally raised a mm or so above the back of the camera themselves, to be recessed about 2mm into an opening on the back. The black TPU boot flexes enough to make it not too difficult to install the phone inside it but resilient enough to really protect the corners and side edges of the phone in most routine situations where you might drop the phone from less than 4-5 feet. The buttons for volume up and down are flush to the rest of the TPU boot but recessed just slightly once the hard shell is in place. They are firm enough to resist accidental activation by bumping in your hand or pocket, but easy enough to find and activate when you need to. Same for the power multipurpose button on upper right edge of the phone, a button which I found without the case was frustratingly way to prone to be activated inadvertently with normal handling. No more with this case. The silent button on the phone is recessed into an open slot just above the volume up/down buttons -- no attempt to formulate any mechanical lever built into the phone to activate it, just the open slot, which I find is unfortunately too small for my sausage fingers to activate. But I do not use that button much, so it is a small frustration for me. Three right-sized slots on the bottom edge for the speakers and the lightning cable/multi-use plug which so far has easily accepted the plugs on the ends of the 5-6 lightning cables (original and aftermarket) with secure functioning intact. The PC stiff plastic colorful shell surrounds the mid-body back and sides and has a little edge that insets into the TPU boot on the sides and around the buttons with a raised lip around the camera lenses. There is a small logo-impressed prop built into the PC shell back that, well to put a positive spin on it, we will say it is functional to some extent but I will not be relying on it in my use. Round hole in the back still shows off your apple logo. And, hooray, the back of the case is thin enough to allow my wireless chargers to work wonderfully. The TPU material is just rubbery enough around the front edges to give me some grip and keep the iphone from inadvertently sliding off my lap or out of my pants pocket and to stay in my hand during routine handling, something I had serious trouble with in the bare iPhone 11 and with the phone in 6 other cases I tried before this one. I had a nearly identical Spigen hybrid two piece case for my previous iphone 4 several years ago, and that case still protects that iphone 4 (6 years later) when I use it on trips as an iPod with all my mp3's on it -- saves my phone battery when travelling as well as protecting the old phone admirably. The only thing I might change in this case would be to gibe the PC shell a slightly rubberized finish for better grip, and roughen up the outer edges of the TPU boot to further make it easier to keep the phone from slipping out of my hand. This still somewhat slippery finish is why I only gave it 4 stars for how it feels in my hand. I might just take some medium sandpaper and rough that up myself in the next week or so. Overall I gave it 5 stars. Yes, I would recommend. Yes, I would buy again (I did after my old iPhone 4 Spigen case). Spigen is the name I will be looking for the next time I get a new phone and need a case for it.

Great
Bought it multiple times. Each time I upgraded my phone I get this cover. Slim enough, very sturdy, the stand in the back is convenient but yet not bulky. Colour doesn’t fade ( I usually get black), super easy to clean and the plastic doesn’t get sticky since material is good quality.

Best cases by far
3 phones in Spigen cases. Fantastic protection for a small price. Good snug fit and not too thick either. Good button feel with perfect cut out alignments. Camera lenses will protected. We've tried a lot of cases and these are the best.
