The wider part was not as wide as the picture makes it look. It is actually kind of thin. I'm not sure how I could get it to look like the picture.I kept the product because I can tie it around my waist as kind of a thin belt but its not as wide as what you would think an obi should be. The quality seems fine but when I tie it it scrunches up so it isn't always flattering without constant adjustments.

I normally wear a size 2 dress, with a 26" waist. This was the perfect belt to add to a solid colored navy blue dress. It's a very soft, flexible fabric (not stiff like a typical belt). It allows for easy size adjusting based on the nature of the "wrap around" design, with a hole in one part of the back that allows you to "feed" the smaller part of the string "through"; because of that hole, the belt lays very nicely on your waist. Once knotted or tied in a bow, the strings hang at a reasonable length for my size as well. Highly recommend!

NOT navy blue. The photo did not match the product. It was a bright royal blue. Disappointed.

Bought this to use with a Chinese kimono. It looked fabulous and stayed in place. I bought it in black. I can use it fro several items of clothing.
