Not sure when manuf stopped putting lights under the hood? but neither my 2003 Ford or 2003 GMC have them. I like to check my oil levels when I fuel (usually at night) and it’s a pain not having a light. these installed easy the ford required no drilling and the GMC need one hole. They are bright, work well and the only change I made was using 3M mounting tape in addition to the factory tape. wipe down the spot where I wanted these mounted under the hood and stuck them on.

This is a great item is ee under the hood to check fluid levels in the early evening or after darkness. Wired without the push down switch - just taped the toggle switch to the back firewall. Use some 3/4" or 1" stick on wire finger clips to secure under the hood. Mounted on both sides of the hood. Check the wiring layout because I needed to mount the crossover wire windshield side. wire was slightly short to mount the driver side strip crossover wire to the front latch side edge. Lots of mounting options. Very cheap and useful auto upgrade for any vehicle.

This is a nice light set up, it looks like the photos in the ad. I didn't use the switch that it came with as I was using a hood switch and push in switch. It does give off a large amount of light to let you see under the hood at night. I also liked the self adhesive tape, I added my own mmm tape on the back of it to just make sure it stays in place. Would recommend.

This is a decent light. There’s nothing especially good or bad. It works and it does put off enough light to see what’s going on under the hood if you find yourself on the side of the road at night. It is not going to take the place of a shop light if you actually have to do more than check the battery terminals or some other basic operation. I think it’s a little overpriced compared to other similar quality under-hood lights but not If you are replacing the OEM light it is plug and play as advertised. If, like me, someone removed the insulation and that light when I had the truck painted, well, it’s a little more complicated.Overall if you need to replace the OEM light this one will do the job.
