A major selling point for this gate for me was the little cat door. Despite many efforts to foil our dog's attempts to stay out of the cat box, she kept finding ways to break in. Putting this gate in a section of our upstairs hall has finally done the trick. It's easy to install, we didn't even use the wall cups and it holds the tension perfectly. When installing as soon as you tighten the tension rods the gate door will align into place. It's very easy to open and close the gate and it's tall enough our husky mix can't jump over it but the cats can easily get through. We've tried quite a few other gates and she could get around many of them but not this one.Of note our hall was about 38 inches wide and with the extender this gate fit it well and still functions.

Dog Gate
This is a sturdy dog gate. I like the fact of the lower door where the cat can go in and out. It’s easy to install and equally easy to take down if needed. It works well functions as it should and overall good price great quality.

Works wonderfully
I ordered 2 of these gates for my room (which doubles as my office for my remote job) and one for the bathroom to keep the puppies out of the litter box.My Anatolian shepherd mix three-and-a-half month 40.5 pound puppy can fit through the cat door. His litter-mate brother does not seem interested in the cat door.....yet.My puppy is very big for his age and it's expected that he will be at least 100 pounds before he's a year old.Until he's too big to fit through the cat door, we will have to open the gate every time the cat wants in my room and leave the cat door open for the bathroom unless the puppies are running around. It would be nice if the cat door was removable because it is a tripping hazard and it has already gotten caught on my pant leg while walking through the gate. Closing the cat door everytime I walk through the gate is a pain. I ziptied the open cat door to one of the bars, and it was a bigger tripping hazard.Other than that, the gates are working very well and the puppies can't get over the top like they can with the wooden baby gate.

Great buy, recommend!!!
Super easy to assemble and install! The wall mount option is a great addition that we took advantage off as we use it to separate two teenage dogs. The cat door allows our cats to still roam the house freely while the dogs stay separated.

Keeps the dogs out of the litter and cat food
Works well. My cats go in and out, but the dogs can't go through unless I open it and let them in. The door stays open if you want it to. I can close my door with it in the doorway. It is very tight, but I can make it happen. Of course, that upsets the cats. lol. I love this gate.

Defective and not suitable for anything but large dogs.
This gate is attractive and stays in place. It has two major design flaws. One of the holes for the wheel rods in the extension bar was defective. The rod can not be inserted all the way into the bar. It can not be used on a 36 inch opening, as the rod sticks out an inch to far at the bottom of the bar. I used it on a different doorway at the top of basement stairs. The cat door is way too big. I heard a commotion and found my new 12 week old, 23 lb. German Sheppard puppy at the bottom of the stairs. She easily, repeatedly got through the cat door. I modified it by duct taping pieces of wood around the openingand spraying them with bitter deterrent to keep her from chewing it, as it only has to hold while I am making a quick trip to the basement while she is unsupervised. There is just a doorway, no actual door, so I had to keep it and try to make it work. UPDATE-After a few days of use, I tried to use the gate on a different door. Now, one of the rods wont go all the way into the frame so I cant even use it in the original opening. Total piece of junk and full of hassles.

Removable pet door - good product for the price
Overall it’s a good sturdy gate. The only downside is that the latch and bottom limiter are plastic. We purchased it to keep the dog out of an office while allowing the cats free access, so it’s great for that. I don’t think I would trust it at the top of stairs where I was trying to keep an active toddler from falling. The company says the small pet door is permanent, but it is installed with a 2-part spring rod. To remove the little door, simply use needle nose pliers to pull the rod down as you push the little door away (like old fashioned watch band springs).
