Definite Plantar Fasciitis Help!
I might be a little hasty on this review because I just put them on for the first time today. I cannot believe how good they feel on my sore and normally hurting plantar fasciitis feet! For the moment at least, they are causing me no pain in the area of the plantar fascia, and the pain in my heels has been greatly mitigated. I've just been wearing them around the house for now, but will gradually begin the process of increasing their wear time in the upcoming days. I really like the roomy toe box and the zero drop from heel to toe. It's going to take a bit before my feet get completely acclimated to a proper shoe, but I am optimistically hoping for the best. Oh, and they look nice too! The fit is far superior, especially with the supported and structured heels than I've experienced in quite a few years now. These seem to be excellent shoes! Wish me luck.

FITS WIDE FOOT W/PADDED ARCH!
Better than expected. Have flat feet and need X-tra wide size. The shoe deside is wide, not a wide size but feels GREAT!! Padded arch a plus. DEFINITELY look to purchase more of these. Light and Comfy and legs feel so much better.

xcellent All-Around shoe with Great Durability and Style
Best ones I've ever worn. I am extremely impressed with the ALTRA Men's Torin 8. Right out of the box, their appearance is fantastic, and considering the overall build quality, they offer exceptional value for the money. The durability on these shoes is outstanding. They hold up incredibly well over time and miles. What I appreciate most is the balance in the construction; there is absolutely no stiffness, allowing for a very natural and comfortable stride, yet the shoe is remarkably rigid enough to handle some light off-trail use without a problem. They are also wonderfully lightweight on the foot, making long runs feel much easier. It is worth noting for potential buyers that they have a very flat profile, which means there is limited arch support. If you are looking for a flatter shoe that lets your foot move naturally, these are absolutely perfect. Highly recommended!

Wide enough for me, though dead like feel on the road.
1. Fit: I have an incredibly wide midfoot, especially in my left foot and these fit amazingly well. The only other shoes that have fit this well are New Balance's 4E shoes. As you can see in the photo, there is minimal outer foot spillover. These are the wide variants and typical of Altra, the 8's are very different from the 7's. I ran 12 miles in these with no lateral foot pain but with the 7's, I was only able to run 3-4 miles before the pain was unbearable and I got the 7's in wide as well. The only problem I have is that these are 9.5 and they feel more like a 10. In the photo you can see that its about my thumb's width long where my toes end in respect to the tip of the shoe. Still, I'm happy that these are wide enough for my feet. Also, the toe shape makes a huge difference. I get blisters on my little toes in non-foot shaped shoes but in these, hardly any. The farthest I've run in these is 12 miles but in older Torins, I did 50-100 mile races and my feet were virtually toe blister free. Still blisters, but not in the toes. I also have the Escalante's and these fit better width wise. Less side spillage. 2. Zero drop. I love zero drop shoes. Anecdotally, I just feel better in them and I think it allows me to midfoot strike better than a non-zero drop shoe. 3. Style. I love this color combo. The last ones where an ugly white and neon green. I typically get the all blacks, but these are black with just enough color. My favorite color scheme were the blue/orange on the old superiors. 4. The only thing I don't like about this shoe is that I feel that it deadens my foot strike. The cushioning is a bit too soft and I sink into them. I feel like I'm running in hard sand. I think this will become a bigger issue with more miles. That's why I also have the Escalante's. Firmer cushion. Overall, I still enjoy this shoe. It's the only shoe that's wide enough and foot shaped with cushion out there. My third favorite behind 1) Vibram Five Fingers and 2) Altra Escalante wide.

One of my favorite running shoes
I absolutely loved this shoe. It was so comfortable on my slow or "fast" runs on a treadmill and pavement. I weighed 196-203 lbs at any given time just for context. It is wide on the toes and still able to secure the shoe to my heel and mid-foot. I also used it as a walking shoe in hard gravel, dirt, and pavement for over 10 months since I was stuck in the middle east (without mail for a few months). I couldn't have had a better shoe to be stuck with :)

Immediate comfort and gait support
Fantastic, arch, correction and comfort I overpronate in a big way and these shoes accommodate my inserts and help correct my gait. I am a female presenting human, but the men’s fit great and cost a little less.

Excellent Shoe - Too Bad Amazon Doesn’t Follow Their Own Return Policy
The shoe itself warrants 5 stars but I’m deducting 2 stars due to Amazon not following their own return policy which states “Most items can be returned for a refund or replacement/exchange within 30 days of delivery as long as they are in original or unused condition.” The shoes were obviously worn outside as the bottom and back of the soles were dirty, one shoe actually had a rock still in the sole. As far as the shoe goes the Torin 8’s are my favorite. I don’t run but walk and I’ve been wearing this style going on a year and a half after moving on from Hokas. I love the wide toe box and the zero drop. There’s enough cushion to keep my feet feeling fine after being on them all day. My wife and I did two guided tours in Europe last year that involved a lot of walking, I had no blisters, there was no break-in period, and no sore feet at the end of the day. Hopefully when the 8’s are no longer available the new Torin 9’s will be just as comfortable.

Size 9
Great color, phenomenal fit. They are nice and wide. I wear a size 9 wide and these are perfect for my feet to get natural splay.

Für breite Füße toll
Ich habe realtiv breite Füße und häufig Probleme beim laufen gehabt. Das ist mit den Altra nicht mehr der Fall. Die Zehenbox ist breiter als bei anderen Schuhen und das merkt man.

Perfect balance of cushion and natural movement
Love the updates on the Torin 8. The zero-drop platform feels very stable, and the lockdown is much improved over previous versions. The foam provides excellent energy return without feeling too "mushy" on the road. If you're looking for a natural-shaped running shoe that can handle high mileage, this is it.

Great road running shoe
Great value for a great running shoe. Wide but nice and compact. I always buy Altra for running and these have a bit of bounce even with zero drop. I’d buy these again if any are still around when my new ones wear out 10/10
