Surprisingly good quality for the price
Good value for standard monsters you need a lot of, like kobolds, goblins, orc, gnolls, undead....you get 4 of each, so I might buy a second lot, as these grunt-level monsters usually appear in a larger horde than 4. The monsters are nice and standard, without weird creative additions (eg: "goblin riding a fish and wielding a garden rake") that would make them useless. Scale is perfect, with 1" circular bases for medium (and small--goblins and kobolds are to scale, but still have a 1" base). Plastic is neither as fragile and brittle as 3D printed figures (which I regret having spent so much time painting, as many of mine are now broken) nor as bendy and warped (and expensive) as Reaper/Bones. Detail is maybe not quite as minute as Reaper/Bones, but still much better than I thought it would be at this price. In fact it may well be as detailed. You would need a magnifying glass to tell the difference. Haven't tried painting them yet, but for several (gargoyles, troglodytes..) they might not need much more than a black wash, as they already come in a grey shade of plastic that is pretty close to the color they are supposed to be. In truth, I'm pretty surprised this doesn't cost more, as other figurines I've bought at only a little below this price point have looked like melted wax and/or been off-scale.

great value
Much better than expected, very dense and heavy items, feel sturdy.

Mixed quality, but overall great + DRAGON!
All of the models that came with this were in great condition. I often worry about boxes of minis risking damage to some, but these all arrived with no damage. Most of the creatures there are 4 of each which makes for setting up a good battle field and doing some diverse painting schemes.I did find several of the models had excess flashing from where the injection molds bled out. This is easily trimmed away with a hobby knife.Details is actually rather good for injection mold minis. I feel like some parts could be more defined but overall these are a great value.I got them to paint with my kid. I let her go kind of crazy with the paints then I either hit them with varnish or do some minor touch ups, like adding a wash and dry brush to them. It makes for some really unique creatures that can have fun stories behind them to fit their design. Also, brings a smile to the table when my kid gets to see her work on the table. I'm looking forward to building out a collection of minis painted by her.The dragon is being saved as a prize for my daughter to paint. Not sure what the scenario will be for her, but I know she's excited to get the big dragon at some point.

Diverse and affordable set of classic fantasy miniatures
The Classic Encounters - Essential Set from Wildspire offers tabletop gamers a diverse and detailed assortment of miniatures at an impressive value. Featuring 65 miniatures in 28mm scale, this set is a great pickup for both novice and experienced game masters.Note: Wildspire recently acquired the intellectual property for these figures from Blacklist Games. Any similarities between these figures and those previously available from Blacklist Games are a result of this acquisition.Contents: The box has sheets of bubble wrap on the top and bottom, and groups of figures are separated into smaller bags surrounding the dragon which is unwrapped. This may not hold up for rough handling, but thankfully my figures arrived undamaged. There is also a small sheet identifying the included miniatures. While most of the figures are molded in gray plastic, the elemental-themed enemies and a few ghostly undead are cast in either semitransparent orange or blue plastic. There are four copies of most of the small and medium-sized enemies, but only single copies of the large and huge-sized creatures. The overall detail is relatively good for plastic miniatures of this scale. There are some imperfections such as visible mold lines and injection spots. The base on the huge dragon is warped, and a few of the weapons are slightly bent. Fortunately, these issues can often be remedied by using hot water to soften the plastic, reshaping the figure, and holding it in place while it cools.Value: Getting 65 miniatures for under $40, including large and huge-sized models, is a fantastic deal. Many of these creatures are staple foes in tabletop campaigns, making this a solid investment for newer game masters looking to begin their miniature collection. Experienced game masters will also find this set useful for expanding their selection of miniatures.Final Thoughts: Although there are some minor defects and questionable protection for shipping, the variety, detail and affordability make this set a winner. I’m looking forward to painting these figures and using them in my future games.

Great bundle of miniatures
I was a little confused when these arrived, because I was like "Wait I already have these". As it turns out, years ago I kickstarted a huge line of system-agnostic minis from a company called Blacklist Miniatures. Well, they hit some financial struggles and focused on their RPG line, and apparently sold the rights to the minis to Wildspire here, who are selling them MUCH cheaper! These are very good figures. They're the perfect size for D&D, Frostgrave, Rangers Of Shadow Deep, and just about any kind of tabletop game that would require miniatures. There is a wide variety of creatures included, with enough duplicates to make like a small horde of ghouls or zombies, or a gang of bandits, a nest of spiders, etc. The sculpts are pretty good, like better than you would expect at this price. I definitely recommend these!

Nice quality and great for our DND games
My oldest son recently got into DND and we've been having family nights with maps, but we were missing action figures etc. This perfectly fit the bill. They are well made and seem pretty sturdy. The pieces can be a bit sharp around some edges, so they shouldn't be played with by small kids, but they look great on our board.
