Alvarado's Cosplay Pin-ups Hardcover – May 28, 2018

I'm a fan of Alvarado's style, not just because he uses smoking hot models, but his themes/outfits have always been on point. I actually wouldn't mind seeing what he could do with male models, or at least more of it (there is one male model in this book), and maybe more normal non-thematic pictures. His shots with real airplanes as backdrops (not just in this book) are also exceptional, would like to see more images with backgrounds instead of white/mono color. When I first started shooting I liked Terry Richardson's style (not his alleged ethics), but when I discovered Alvarado's pictures I knew he was the better artist to aspire to be like. I've seen similar styles, some of which I thought was his work, but certain things just became noticeable, and now I can practically pick out his work instantly. Alvarado is unmatched in my opinion. If you haven't picked up any of this other 3 photo books yet, I sincerely recommend them. I think some of the images in this Cosplay book may be in some of the other ones but there's definitely more content throughout them.

Great resource of beautiful art/photography!!

A wonderful book of beautiful photos of beautiful cosplay models. I do have a couple of complaints. Although Mr. Alvarado does list all the models' names at the end of the book he doesn't credit which photos they're in. I know a couple of the cosplayers personally, but have no clue who the other 20 - 30 folks are. Also there are some genre of costumes conspicuously missing. There are no Star Trek costumes for example. Must be a rights issue. But I enjoyed the book a lot.

He went a little heavy on the Starwars theme in this one. In my opinion, that detracted from the overall book.

Got for a gift. Sexy cosplay, cool before and after (makeover) photos, and a couple of Vampirellas! Good gift. Good quality photo book.
