Mamey Sapote Pouteria Sapota (4 Count)

Had two orders. First was wrecked. Cardboard saturated in all directions, paper that wrapped each sapote was saturated, stuck to the fruit, fruit exploded 2 of 4. Not seller’s fault. It’s USPS who managed to make this their last package they kicked, shook, stirred in the heat wave. The second order was pristine. Delicious, ripe, sweet sweet perfection. Million thnx to seller. I appreciate the excellent product.

This was the worst Mamey purchase I have made. They never ripened despite allowing them to sit. I opened 1 of 4 same day I received them (March 17, 2026) the others I lower to sit until they were soft and the outer skin was wavy . I opened the final 2 on April 7th, 2026 after allowing time to ripen(photo attached) I believe they never did the “scratch” test on them to make sure they were ripe enough to pick. The whole lot I received were nothing like the ones that have been allowed to tree ripen. All went to the trash and looked like the ones in the photo

I’ve ordered this set of 4 sapotes multiple times. The fruits are packed properly (not too much, not too little padding) and it is all shipped very promptly each time. Sunset Groves does a great job of picking high quality fruit at the right level of ripeness to add to every delivery. I typically need to wait 2-3 days before the sapote is ready to eat. Once it’s ready, it is absolutely delicious. I eat it raw and it blows my mind and body each time. I’ll keep buying from Sunset Groves.

So mushy you can't even pick it up without it sliding out of your hand and cracking open more. Picture is when it JUST arrived and I opened the box!

The fruits arrived in good shape and ripened within a couple of days. But the flesh was grayish-orange, not orange as pictured or vermillion as some other mail-order mameys I've had from south florida. I thought this was just the variety and might not affect the flavor but the fruits had a fairly weak flavor compared to the sweeter and denser-textured fruit I expected. These are a fine choice but there are other growers and fruitstands in South Florida who ship direct who I would recommend instead.

I just returned from a trip to my homeland of Cuba. I have not been back since I was 6 years old. I had childhood memories of eating Mamey on a regular basis. Once I arrived I immediately had to have some!!! and WOW! I could only find the frozen version in the States. As soon as I got back I longed for this delicious fruit that I could only find in my Cuba. LOVED it! They were delicious. I was able to make them into a smoothie too.. Thank you for growing these and maintaining a high standard. I will DEFINITELY order these again and only from this grower!!!

I bought this for my boss after he mentioned how much he missed the taste. Arrived timely and well packaged. They fruits were perfect and almost ripe. He ate one as soon as he opened the box and declared it “perfect”. I’m very pleased

Mamey arrived damage. I was only able to taste one. The package was beat up. I was disappointed, it had good reviews. I spent 56 dollars for one mamey. Lol.
