Thule TracRac TracOne Truck Rack

What a pleasure to get something of such good quality, Easy to follow instructions. this was so nice compared to many projects where you have a lot of assembly. You guys are the best. Thank you so much.

Bought the Thule TrackRac to haul my ocean kayaks. New truck so I didn't want some cheap harbor freight rack. This Thule rack is 100% quality product. The main feature I liked is the channel system for mounts. Very happy with it. Built solid and definitely worth the price.

Seems like the quality is good, but what is up with the Thule stickers? Very poor quality that don't stick to the black finish whatsoever. Especially in Seattle Rainy weather. These stickers will fly off by themselves. Should be an engraved decal instead.

The quality of materials is much better than the racks I've bought in the past. Looks great once it's installed. Really happy with the end result, but it was painstakingly difficult to get there. I'm sure the folks who order the standard aluminum rack will be fine - its the black one you need to worry about. They powder coat EVERYTHING black. That includes the threads on the C clamps. It's damn near impossible to thread the bolts with a regular Allen wrench. I had to buy an attachment for my impact drill - even then, it was crazy difficult. You have to drill, then back it out, drill, then back it out in hopes of cleaning the powder coat off the c clamp threads. All this while trying not to cross thread. At least one other review mentioned this problem. Wish I would've read it before hand. Good looking rack once it's on - just not worth the hassle imo.

Great racks and easy to install

Bolts snapped off in the upright, after using the rack minimally for about a month, various pieces of lumber and pipe etc. Nothing heavy I can assure you. Installed on a 2018 f150. Called Thule and two weeks passed by before they responded. Told me that it was from impact and they would not warranty it. Reached out to Amazon, they wont stand behind me either, as it was past the return time. This rack sat in my shop for two months before I put it on the truck. Still waiting for Thule to get me the replacement bolts and upright, not going to let this go. It has been 2 months. This same issue also happened to another purchaser, see reviews. So disappointed, expected quality and service from Thule and Amazon as well, they wont even respond . These racks are good for carrying a surf board thats about it. When the UPS guy showed up I could hear him gathering all the pieces together that had come out of the packaging. It took about 5 minutes for him to gather everything together. I thought for sure that pieces would be missing. Amazingly, all parts were present. After getting the rack partly assembled, I noticed there was no way it was going to work on my Tacoma. The clamps for this rack aren't for trucks with rail systems like mine. I packaged everything back up, way better than it was received, and sent it back--on June 21st. Today is July 22nd and I still have not gotten my refund. Thule received the rack on July 1st according to the tracking number and they had my refund date set as July 17. When July 17 rolled around, the refund date got moved back to July 20. When July 20 rolled around, the refund date got moved to July 25th! This is absolutely ridiculous! The product seemed well made, but customer service is really lacking.

Once you FINALLY get this product assembled, it's amazing. No complaints. Putting this thing together, well, that's another story. First, this product doesn't come with any tools. That was fine for me as I have a ton, but for those without specific Hex key and drill bit sets, good luck to you. Secondly, and most frustratingly, many of the bolts that come with this set are covered with red threadlocker (loctite - picture #1) and due to the odd angle you're screwing these bolts in - it causes a ton of build up and miss threading. In short, these are an absolute pain in the ass to insert properly. Furthermore, when assembling the 8 C-clamps included (picture #2), it seems as though the black finish Thule uses had been over-sprayed and thus some got into the nut area within the C-clamps. Screwing the bolts in also led to similar issues as mentioned above, tons of build up within the nut area which causes miss threading & seizure - locking the bolt in place. The bolts used for the C-clamps DO NOT have red loctite on them. It's the finish within the nut area that causes the issue. Hope you either have a couple strong friends that are good with Hex keys or a drill that has insanely high torque. My drill kicked on me several times during this process & I had to manually use Hex keys for the most part. Don't think I have to tell you how much this process sucked. Eventually after many times of inserting and removing, the area within the nuts becomes "clean" and you can then easily insert and remove the bolt as needed. Some of the C-clamps are a breeze, others you'll be fighting with. Unless you're permanently leaving the rack on your truck, making sure these 8 C-clamps can easily be attached and removed from your truck bed is a must. You do NOT want to be hanging half upside down in your truck bed fighting to get these things on or off. Take the time in your shop/garage prior to attaching to your truck and get those 8 C-clamps threading properly. You'll thank me later. After many nut-to-bolt threading headaches your assembly should be a piece of cake. Taking off and on your truck is a breeze too. Excellent product once you get past the initial assembly. Fits perfectly and I really like the 4 rubber foot pads included - saves your truck from any damage the footing would have on the sides of your truck bed.

I bought this for my Ram 1500 truck with a tools box. since I need to carry a stepladder with me at work. It’s made from good material. since I couldn’t find anything for the frame ram box. had to redo it I'm very happy with the quality of this product. after installing and redoing it it stands strong and good. One thing I’m not happy about is that the stairs have become higher and it’s no longer possible to enter the underground parking lot

The rest has gone together so far, but the C clamps are stripping threads on me. I have 8 bolts and 8 C clamps. None to spare and the threads don't match well. This is a quality control issue that needs to be resolved. I finally remembered that I had a tap and die set for machine threads and once I figured out which tap screw to use I just cleaned up the threads to remove the over spray / paint from them. On to the next step now. This step should be done as a QC step before it gets shipped to the customer.

Box came in damaged the product also damaged the hardware bags had been ripped hopes and missing half the hardware the load stops did not fit in the rails and when I contacted the seller it was a three day hassle just trying to get the parts very displeased with the quality and service
