Rocky S2V - Extremely awesome boot!
These boots are by far the best boots I have ever owned. I cannot stress enough the quality of the US craftsmanship. Made in the USA! They have superb ankle support and fit like a glove. They are very true to size. The tongue has high abrasive material on it for long lasting abrasion resistance towards every day lacing of the boot. Lace up is smooth, fast and almost effortless. The stitching is also very solid. The sole is very rugged & sturdy, but yet very flexible & stealthy at the same time. I know a lot of attention to detail has gone into making this boot. A lot of military input, especially from spec ops and seals. Oh and not to forget how comfortable they are. Will be buying a second pair in case they discontinue this version. Worth every penny @ $220, but found a great deal @ papashoe.com for $186. Keep in mind that there are different versions of the S2V and that these are the military duty boots. Well done Rocky!

17 year-old wears these HARD, all day everyday! Tough, comfy boots!!
I bought these boots for my 17 year-old son 7 months ago. As a frequent Amazon buyer I can say I still get intimated by purchases such as this where the price point is high and the selection and features of the item are many. I was nervous spending this much money on boots, online. Let me tell you, this was a SUPER purchase!! My son wore these from day one, really with no break-in period. He started wearing them everyday to school and throughout the evening. He's working for a construction/remodeling company for the summer where he could choose to wear tennis shoes instead of these boots, and he chooses the boots. He raves about their comfort. In 7 months we've had not one flaw or malfunction with these boots. Soles and uppers are still in great condition. My son is a very active kid and has put these boots through a lot of tough use. They seem to repel stains well and are extremely well constructed. If/when the time comes we will get him another pair. Last week my husband decided to get a pair for himself so we ordered a pair for him too. I'm very happy these boots are made in the USA!! My only complaint is in the 7 months since we purchased my son's pair the price has gone up $50!!! This may be seasonal since we bought one pair in the winter and the other in summer. Either way, we were so pleased with the quality and comfort of these boots that we paid it.

Great Boot for new Army Regs.
I used to wear Nike's boots. I would prefer a lighter boot that didn't require much breaking in. I bought these because my old boots were out of regs. I had a difficult time finding a pair of Danners my size. It's like none were available. I had these boots recommended to me and they are fantastic. Very durable, water resistant. They did feel a little tight the first day but it really only took one or two days to break in fully. Had them for a week so far and they are comfortable. They are not heavy. Also what is great about this boot and my favorite feature is that it has an amazing tread. Has a very good grip. One negative is that I bought these in the summer and they are fairly warm. But still worth it. Best boots I've bought.

Great boots - not GP though
The boots arrived almost a month late after delays by the seller. Did finally arrive and I am very happy with them. They are my second pair of S2V's. Point of note - boots are fit for purpose but it is not general purpose. Treacherous in a wet urban environment. Very dodgy on wet rocks and the like - best to stick to the dry. Couple of dodgy moments trying to climb out of rivers on slippery rocks and up extreme waterfalls. However, that said, in wet vegetation the grip is excellent. To test the point I recently wore them to rugby practice (at times, full body contact) and after one and a half hours in rain and very wet grass the boots were absolutely outstanding and surpassed all my expectations. Never slipped or missed a tackle all night. At one point a rather large gentleman stepped on my foot with his aluminiun studded boots - no damage to me. wow, what a boot.

Expensive shoe for a bargain price
They've been great to me. Usually other boots I've bought would've started to come undone at seams, or have holes start to show the toe, but these still look like they just got broken in. They are comfortable and light as well. The khaki color was an obvious choice and high tops look great on me while keeping my ankles from breaking. They keep my feet warm with room for my wool socks in the toe as well, so no toes squeezing together all day to stay warm in Winter when you work at a 10,000ft.

Great Boots!!!
I had previously tried the goretex version of these boots and they were a bit large. I'm a large man, 6'5" and about 350 lbs and my feet are somewhat odd shaped and I have a hard time finding boots that are not only wide enough, but also not too big. My left foot measures for a 12.5 shoe and my right for a 12. Unfortunately I cannot wear most 12 wide boots, but a lot of companies dont make a 12.5 available in their boots. Enter the Rocky S2v boots. Not only do they come in a 12.5, but its a perfect fit. It's snug without being restrictive or binding. The sole is a cup sole so your foot sits in the sole not on top of it, also a great feature for someone like me who goes through a pair of boots every 8 months because of poorly constructed boots and quite frankly bad decisions in quality footwear. These have been around for several years and I can definitely see myself wearing these on and off duty as long as they are available. That being said, they are a bit heavy. I know with all the "lightweight" tactical boots out there that the choices are vast. Do yourself and your feet a favor and try these out. Quality boots are always worth the extra cost in the long run and these are definitely high quality and made in the USA. I will be ordering these in black as well to wear on duty.

Durable and Comfortable Longest Lasting
This is me: A hardworking guy that's been cut off from replacement boots by nearly every modern boot company- true story. I've paid for very expensive, mid tier and even some low priced boots; and none have held up like these Rocky SV2. I've waited years to post this review. I'll put pictures of the maltreated pair complete with paint splatter. I've had to replace the insole multiple times over the years. These boots have worked in the heat of Florida, cold of the Midwest and points between. Have worn them over 24 hours straight on concrete floors many times. Have ran, hiked, weight lifted, worked from footings to rooftop ridges and these are always ready. They have aged, there's separation at the leather and sides of the sole where they attach, yet it's cosmetic and they still have their integrity. I've read other reviews and this is my experience, your mileage may vary and maybe I just got a special pair. The only boots that ever came close were the original Herman Survivors made in Poland nearly 2-decades ago and a pair of Matterhorns. I'd love to have had goretex, but again for how they're made, they performed the best. If you purchase a pair I hope that you have a similar experience. Please work safe, efficiently, enjoy the process and God Bless.

There is a seam at mid-heel.
These appear to be well-made boots on the outside, but there are issues with the design of the interior. I deducted two stars because of the poor design of the interior panels and poor placement of seams. There is a seam on the heal! The leg/ankle panel and the heel panel meet right where the Achilles tendon attaches to the heel bone. That is a common place to develop friction/heat blisters without having a lump of extra fabric present. After two hours of wear the boots had caused a hot spot that developed into a blister. After covering the heal with mole skin it was no longer a problem. I've never had a pair of boots that caused blisters in two hours of hiking, even during break-in. Hopefully, the adhesive, friction mitigating patches I purchased will help. Time will tell if they hold up over the years.

Lost me for good.
update: Leather tore after a few dozen days of casual wear. Clearly a material defect. Nothing but static and redirect by their customer "service" both sides of the border. I would buy another set if it wasnt for them jerking me around. I should have trusted my gut and stuck with Danner. I am shopping for some now.

"Low Quality & Over Priced."
Very disappointed with the build Quality. The fabric used is not of an international standard, nor for serious individuals or groups. And to top it off the product came damaged

Excellent boot
Gone for countless hikes in these boots. After years of bargain-bin department store brand boots these were a real treat to wear. After they break in they provide excellent ankle support and are supremely comfortable perfect to wear around rugged terrain and awkward features. They have saved my ankles many times from rolls and sprains. At the price point these are unbeatable. Have worn mine hard for a year and they are still going strong.
