Really loving the map, the tracking, very cool. Wish I'd had this 25 years & one escape artist labrador ago. Note: I did have trouble getting the 6 month subscription to show up. No activation code and no option not to buy the 1 year subscription so putting in this review to address that. No, you do not need to buy a 1 year subscription. If you don't see the "activate 6 months" option, let customer service know. They fixed it for me within hours and now all is well. Also, it had an extend 6 more months for $10 option (which I took), which should also be a price consideration (tracker+12 month subscription for $89). I was trying to decide between Fi and Tractive, and decided to go with this because when you are looking for your dog, 1 minute updates are not enough to catch them imo -- it has to be seconds. Also think this one will be more durable for rough housing. Really like the map they have. I took the advice in these reviews and put a couple of zip ties on it just in case. Only had it 24 hours but really like it so far after initial set up issue.

This tracker’s gps doesn’t work. At night my dog sleeps in a shed that he can’t get out of. This tracker says that my dog leaves the safe zone while he is in his shed. It also says that he is miles away while being in the safe zone. The battery also dies very quickly. I will go back to the bigger tracker from Tractive I had no issues with it.

After switching from a more expensive competitor, we’ve been using Tractive for over a month now and it’s been a noticeably better experience. The tracking is accurate and consistent, even outside Wi-Fi range. The app is intuitive, doesn’t drain your phone battery, and includes thoughtful features without being pushy. Social elements like location sharing and activity tracking are fun, but not intrusive. Most importantly, it does what it promises: keeps tabs on your dog reliably and in real time. Battery life is solid, and the hardware is somewhat more clunky than the main competitor yet easy to attach. It’s also much more affordable than other options we tried, both up front and over time. Customer service hasn’t been needed often, but when we’ve reached out, it’s been straightforward and responsive, no hidden fees, no games. If you’re looking for a GPS dog tracker that just works, Tractive’s been the clear winner for us.

Does not help with knowing where your dog is around the house. Alarm is a silent text when animal leaves the safety zone/ virtual fence. NO wifi no virtual fence. If there is clouds or trees could be hard to signal... Hence is lost when hiking ????

The location tracking on this GPS tracker is very accurate and provides excellent data on my dog's activity — including movement patterns, rest periods, and daily activity levels. It's been a great tool for keeping tabs on my dog and understanding his behavior throughout the day. The app is intuitive and the live tracking feature works really well most of the time. However, there are occasional moments where the tracker shows no signal for no apparent reason, which can be a bit frustrating when you want real-time updates. It doesn't happen constantly, but it's noticeable enough to mention. Overall, it's a solid product that delivers on its core promise — I just hope future firmware updates can address the random signal drops.

I have not (thank God) had to use these to find my puppies, yet, they are only 12 weeks old. I got these because my cousin recommended them. He uses them on both of his dogs who run wild on the farm where there is no internet and cellular connection can be spotty at times. He said that he can always track them with it. I absolutely love the health monitoring attributes. Being able to monitor their sleep and how they are doing definitely gives me peace of mind. I highly recommend these, especially if you have clever furry friends. These would have been very handy when I had my escape artist many years ago!

gps is not always accurate. I have problems with it being offline even when the dogs are at my feet. If you have 2 dogs that like to play......order extra clips to hold them onto the collar as they will break. Don't expect any assistance with this product. I have contacted amazon with my concerns without any resolution. In order to get the dogs back online you have to do a hard reset and then walk around the yard for 10 minutes. This is a real inconvenience especially with 2 trackers. i have since learned if I shut the tracker off and back on again it does reconnect. This has been trial and error for the most part. For double insurance I also purchased a wireless fence which is very easy to set up and use.
