Not as good as old version
Unlike my old Cuisinart Immersion Blender which I loved, this one has a safety feature to initiate operation that requires pushing a button on the end of the stick AND the speed button on the side. Once it starts you can let up on the button on the end. When using, I find I often let up on the operation (speed) button when I bring the blender up and out of the cup/bowl to check progress or re-position it and avoid burns or splatters. This can't happen with the safety feature/button on the end-it just stops. Also, I have small hands (glove size 51/2-6) and pushing the two buttons to start it is hard to do with one hand and awkward with two!!!

I loved it until...
I loved this blender stick...until it stopped working. The latch mechanism would not allow the two pieces to lock into place. Also, I'm not sure if other brands design are the same, but to operate blending one must hold the button down to operate. For me, holding the button down is tiresome. I may go back to a regular mixer or use my Vitamix. I was hoping this blender would save time and less mess by blending in whatever cook pot I was using. It costs more to get it fixed than to buy a new one. BTW it's not old...less than 2 years and it was only used a handfull of times.

Now I have a useless motor that's getting trashed
Eventually the blade breaks at the center. I have had this twice now. I even bought a replacement wand (not the motor part) for close to the price of a whole new unit from cuisinart hoping it was a fluke and the replacement broke even quicker. Now I have a useless motor that's getting trashed...
