How much time does it take to assemble?

Takes a long time to assemble, but the instructions are great. I would say a good hour and a half. BUT our grandson absolutely loved it and still plays with it one year later.

Can I buy the accessory set separate?

Yes, you can buy replacement parts from Step2 directly. We have purchased some ourselves-- the drill lasted about a year and our son loved it so much we bought another set of the tools.

What type of batteries are used for the tools? I need to include some, this is a gift.

The tools take double A batteries.
