I love this book. The paper is amazing quality and thickness and I find I can write on more of the page than a traditional note book bound on the left. The pages are smooth and a dream to write on in any ink with no bleed through. Detachable pages are also a bonus. The cover is of nice material that is functional and stylish,

Dingbats notebooks are a real find for me, especially after falling out of love with Moleskine years ago - paper not good for fountain pens, gimmicky nonsense such as stickers etc. This is lovely: the cover's texture and colour is a real delight, the paper fantastic for fountain pen with no feathering or bleed through and smooth run over the surface; the whole thing is very well made and substantial, with the elastic binder nicely keyed in. However, one of the appeals of the landscape opening Dingbats (I have the A5, lined in red) is the penholder, in my opinion an even more essential feature on a notebook size that is often chosen for a bag. Why on earth is there not one on these? I know such holders are usually opposite the hinge and that dimension preclude that here. but is there any reason why it should not be on the side: it would certainly fit! The absence of this feature almost put me off: I'm glad it didn't, but I AM disappointed that it doesn't have one. For me, that definitely knocks one star off.

My wife uses these every day for keeping track of on-line shopping. A bit expensive, but they do the job.

I wanted a small journal for my tarot work--not too big, not too small. The A6 Reporter format which opens from the top is perfect. It lays flat when I write in it and is made of a very nice (faux though it doesn't look faux) leather with a lovely imprint of an elephant on the cover. The pen holder on the side is a plus, as is the small pouch inside the back cover where I can tuck my tarot card of the day to contemplate. Could serve a multitude of note taking purposes. Not sure how durable it will be as I just got it, but as it seems so very well made I suspect it will last a long time.

Schon mein zweites Dingbats-Notizbuch. Immer wieder ein tolles Büchlein für die wichtigsten Sachen zum Aufschreiben. Schade, dass man hier nur 5 Sterne vergeben kann.

Not only is it gorgeous and fits easily in my jacket pocket the paper has a strong tear away strip and the paper is thick enough to not have my markets bleed through it. Really a quality product!

This is my third Dingbat notebook— the reporters style— so obviously it has served my purposes. They are small and handy to keep notes. You can’t be verbose but if you need to jot down daily notes they are great, sturdy and handsome little books with quality paper. The paper is perforated so you can remove them individually. And the pocket in the back is handy. I use the elastic band to hold a mechanical pencil which is not included.
