I used a rock to set the island in the middle of my pond, which is a feature my other plant islands didn’t have. This anchor helps keep the island in place, even during windy days. Additionally, I appreciate that the cover opening is on the bottom rather than the top. My other plant islands have exposed styrofoam where the dirt has settled, but this one avoids that issue completely.Shallow Medium ContainerThe medium container is somewhat shallow, but that's okay for my needs. It holds enough soil to support the plants without any problems.Ideal for Sun-Exposed PondsI need as many plants as possible because my pond gets too much sun, and this floating plant island helps a lot with that. It provides ample space for various plants, offering better shade and protection for my pond life.DurabilityWhile I can't say it's a great value, these last a really long time. Its durability makes up for the initial cost, as I haven't had to replace it.Overall, the Aquascape Floating Plant Island has proven to be a reliable addition to my pond, offering practical features and long-lasting performance.

My wife really couldn't figure out why I bought this, then I put the plants in and it turned out even better than I thought. Now she loves it and wants me to buy another one.

Very cute. A little smaller than I thought. Just don't do what I just did. Filled it all up with plants and soil and set it free. It tipped over with 30 seconds and dumped all that soil into my pond. My advice is to test the balance before you set it free. Really my fault but I didn't think it would tip over so easily.

Floats great. Waters aquatic plants 24/7. My fish can't snack on tender roots. Win win!

Our pond is a work in progress. We were using baskets for the plants and they kept getting knocked into the water. It just made a mess and they didn't look nice. I love this floating plant island. It is super lightweight! The price seemed high at first but then I realized that the size of this was double the ones I saw at the nursery where we buy the plants. There is a tie-off so you can keep it in one place. That could be longer. And I will probably add to it to make it longer so the island can be more in the middle of the pond. I will still keep it tethered to something so it is easy to pull back to the side if I need to tend to the plants or take them out for the winter with ease.

You can see in my photo that I have 2 other floating planters that are floating. I tried all kinds of things to get it to float. I removed soil. I pushed in corks to try to get it to be buoyant. I tried to tether it. It sank below the surface of the water every time. I used aquscape planting medium and two lightweight baby plants. I stuck more corks into it. My poor plants didn't appreciate being flooded and dunked, then manhandled to get them out, and my body didn't enjoy doing it over the hard rocks.I finally gave up and parked it on the bank next to my plant shelf, which was full. It looks beached, but it wasn't sinking anymore. This is not what I had purchased this planter for.I believe that the problem lies in the Styrofoam collar. It is not wide enough to keep it buoyant, not enough foam. Eventually I will try to see if I can add something else to float it. This item floats fine when empty, but sinks fast when filled. I didn't buy it to have a floating donut.This was the most expensive of my 3 floating planters, and it's a huge disappointment. This is a big waste of money so I would advise anyone to pass it by. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I'm very disappointed

Fabric did not last a year in a pool to pond conversion set-up. Fabric came off of several that I had in the water. Certainly overpriced for the poor durability. Left with nothing but a few styrofoam rings at this point. I had purchased about six of the smaller ones and about 3 of the larger ones. Not sure I can trust them to be replanted for another season of use.

I got the first one last May and put some marsh plants in it for our artificial pond. We use a 6ft diameter stock tank for an above ground pond so there is no bank for planting. Worked great, stayed in the pond all winter (NC) and we liked it so much I ordered two more of them this spring to add more mash plants. The only problem I've had with it is that the birds are using it as a birdbath and breaking off pieces of plants on the newly planted ones. So I ordered one for them that I'm just going to put some gravel in so that they can use it as a bath. My fish like to hang out underneath them when it gets really hot, which was one of the reasons we added more this year.
