Bacon Rack with Lid, 10.25x8x2 Inches

So I had 3lbs of bacon I needed to cook and had decided I was no longer a fan of the oven method due to the size of the mess left over for clean up. So that left me with the skillet method which left me rethinking about the oven method again. So in the end I thought I would try the microwave method. Going forward it will now be the only way I cook bacon. No more oven, and no more skillet. I had ordered 2 of these Nordic Ware Bacon Racks to help speed up the 3lbs of bacon. So while one was cooking in the microwave I was preparing the other. In the end the bacon came out crispy just the way I like it (less cook time if you don't like it crispy). The directions worked well for the most part for my microwave. Depending on your microwave results may vary. I was very afraid the covers would melt, or something was going to break, or all in all just be a disaster. I was pleasantly suprised to see that everything help up great with no visible signs of ever beeing used, very sturdy. My one complaint is the size seems a bit odd for 1/2 cut bacon strips but all in all it worked out. The part I liked best is: I was able to pour the grease into a container after each round of bacon, and for the big win all pieces held up well in the dishwasher and they came out sparkling clean.

Works well, although It has a small crack in one corner that I found after a couple of months. I cut my strips of bacon in half, place them around the edge of the plate to cook. Bacon in the middle cooks slowly, but I think that’s my microwave. The cooker also works well for steaming Gyoza dumplings, and it cooks hot dogs well. It’s held up well for 2 years, hard to beat for the price.

Excellent product. Took just a couple of tries to get the time right for crisp bacon but now it is quick and easy. I'm glad I found this. It is a bit short for regular pieces of bacon, so I cut the pieces in half, separate them in freezer bags, take out only what I need the night before, and it's ready to cook in the morning.

It took a few tries to get the timing right to meet how I like my bacon cooked. Now I LOVE this cooker. Quick, easy, and clean. A lot less grease left on my bacon. I can pour the grease into the garage. Washing the cooker is so easy. No more grease all over my stove. It has a vented cover that keeps the grease from getting onto the microwave. I personally think the bacon actually tastes better. I wish I would have found this cooker years ago. The con is (not a con for me) that it's better to cut the bacon in half to fit 3 full slices into the cooker. I normally cut my bacon in half anyway to fit my egg fry pan and storage container. I only cooked 3 slices for my breakfast anyway.

we eat a lot of BLTs so I got this to cut down on cooking time. we use thick cut bacon and it take about 4 min to do one batch. a batch in our case is 2 slices cut in half. the bacon is the right crispness for us. unfortunately, it takes one batch for each sandwich. Pouring off the grease is a little awkward as you have to pour it off at a corner and holding the cooker while pouring is awkward. It is, also, not easy to clean. even after soaking over night the baked on particles on the ridges are hard to get off.

Have purchased twice since 2022, one for me and one to gift to a friend. This is such a time saver for family morning rush time. I’ve cooked turkey bacon, regular bacon, and chicken nuggets/tenders on it. My daughter has a bit of a sensory issue with texture and doesn’t like the nuggets if they’re soggy as can happen when you microwave them. I try not to use the microwave and prefer to cook them in our mini toaster oven/air fryer but some days you just don’t have the time to wait that long. I like that the lid fits perfectly and both parts are dishwasher safe. I usually soak the bottom for a few hours and then put it in the dishwasher after. The bottom is a sturdy hard plastic and the top is a softer plastic but still sturdy. I like the white color as my countertop and dishes are mostly white. Great value for money in my opinion.

Haven’t used it yet but I had one very similar to this one minus the lid. Lasted 10 years, only issue was the bacon grease staining after that amount of years doesn’t come off the bottom to good. I’m curious to see how the lid will come out. Never used a lid before just paper towels.

Eu adorei este excelente produto. Muito bonito e de qualidade. Cumpre perfeitamente sua função no preparo de tiras de bacon e bifes em microondas. O relevo canelado permite escoar o excesso de líquido e gordura. Assim o alimento fica mais crocante e com textura mais apetitosa. Recomendo. Também gostei de usar esta bandeja para descongelamento de carnes. Consigo descongelar até 1kg de frango. Ou cinco coxas grandes. 🍗 Recomendo.
