Excess protein in the body can be turned to fat just the same as other carbs so it depends on what you need. I started buying this because it was recommended to help with adrenal fatigue healing and I usually don't drink it straight but use if for oatmeal, smoothies, soups etc so it's taste on it's own isn't super-important to me.
