Awesome Clock!
Wow what a great clock. Be aware not all the gear sets move. There is a toggle line that allows you to let the gears turn, or not turn (the time will continue to operate including the second hand). This feature is meant to save battery live, since this unit takes 2 big batteries. The gear-set is pretty quiet, and a great show piece. I love watching the second hand move around, its seemless not a ticking motion.Great center piece in my living room now, but I think its going out to the garage soon.

Good, but A disappointment
I watched this clock on YouTube video and was impressed, it sure looked like a work of art. However upon arrival I found their Chinese outsourcer is evidently cutting corners. I first found the fancy 2nd in the picture I liked had been replaced by a cheap plain one; after talking to Maples customer service I found out it has been 'revised' :(. Also I found many of the gears didn't line up with the teeth so they remained idle even though the clock was moving (while all the gears moved in the video). There were gaps all over the place. The instruction booklet was a one page blurry Xerox, about four sentences that gave no help.I emailed Maples about the gears and they never answered, so I can only assume shoddy workmanship. This was a great idea, and if they had only spent a few extra bucks on quality control I would have been a loyal customer. If I'm going to pay [...] for a clock I would have expected something better. Grade: C+-----1-24-11 UpdateI finally talked to Maples and found out that apparently all the gears were never intended to move, some don't. The person who made the video apparently had customized theirs. So I am raising my rating a star, although I'm still not quite sure why it was made this way. The clock certainly looks more interesting with all the gears moving. Also they finally mailed me one of their old second hands from stock (the one pictured on their boxes), which I think makes the clock- but if you buy one, you won't get it.Here is the YouTube video clip I originally saw which made me look for the clock for sale:[COGWHEEL.MOV]

A fantastic clock! The pictures don't do it justice.
This clock is pretty nice. First it is packed very well so that it doesn't shift in the box as it's tie strapped down to flexible foam core, and protective supports are in just the right place. This clock is quiet heavy which I like. The gears look good, and not at all like plastic. It has the option of having the gears move continually (they travel very little even when you stare at them for awhile) or not move at all. The clock is battery operated, so that explains why the wheels don't spin too fast. The gears make a bit of clatter if you choose to turn them on.My gripes are minor. Once you remove the battery cover, good luck ever getting it back on. The mounting hole leaves a lot to be desired. It's a triangular hole with a 1" deep lip, so you'll have to bend the nail you use so that the clock doesn't try to just slide off the nail. I wound up using a 2 1/2" long roofing nail to hang it, and found a stud to support the weight. Keep in mind you'll need to change the batteries so you can't just put a washer on the nail head as you'd have to remove the nail from the wall every time.I also purchased the Kikkerland Gear Wall Clock which I hated. That clock was more expensive and very cheap looking in person (mostly plastic). I couldn't decide beforehand which clock to place in my garage and the Maple's clock was an easy choice as a side by side comparison.I knocked off one star because the black face of the clock is scuffed up/scratched quite a bit (many scratches) on the right side. The left side looks perfect and glossy. I don't know whether someone had returned this before I get it and this was missed, or if someone at the factory damaged it or didn't finish buffing out the part. It's very noticeable, but it hangs in my garage so it's not a big deal.

Maple's Moving Gear Wall Clock
This is a very cool clock. Amazon.com had the best price, shipping was fast and the clock came very well packed. The moving gears make this a nice clock if you like things that move. The moving gears can be turned on and off with the clock still keeping time.If you like things like this, you can't go wrong. Maple's Clock GCL06-378 Moving Gear Wall Clock

Good visual...
The clock arrived working but the gears never moved, all I can say is that it looks good on the wall but unfortunately the real differentiator (gears working) don't.

Keeps on Ticking
I'm constantly getting positive comments on this clock. The moving gears are a great accent compared to a traditional clock. Everyone loves it because of its uniqueness. This is my second 'Maple's Clock' in the past two years (own a different version as well), and if I had more space, I'd purchase another.
