Fixed our problem
My daughter’s pony always tries to graze on trail rides. She is not strong enough to stop him from going down for grass. This fixed our problem! Love it! Now he can still go left and right for leaves, but it’s definitely an improvement. I was concerned it would be too tight when we were cantering, but there is plenty of give and flap, so I am not concerned.

Really short
They work great. Only down side is they are short. They hardly fit my Halflinger pony. I had to add a metal ring to my saddle to make give a little more length. Bailing twin worked too to add a little more length.

Bit small for 15:2 but works GREAT
Bought for a very pushy foody quarter horse. He’s a big tank. Usually see these for ponies. I was fed up of being yanked about in spring when the trails are full of tempting tall grasses. I needed a help to work on training. He’s much better now. Many people gave me advice. Usually ‘don’t let him’. Honestly, I needed an aid to get us past the bully part. I can unclip them while riding when doing good. Invaluable. Don’t need to use them for an entire trail ride. Easy on, off while mounted. My arms and neck appreciate this.

Great for rooting ponies
I run a large riding academy, and we use these on many of the ponies. The little riders can easily get rooted out of the saddle when one of our 4 footed instructors decides they want more rein. If your trekking, it also keeps the pony's head out of the grass. It is slightly effective to keep a pony from bucking, as long as they're not too athletic. I use this on a few of the smaller horses as well. I hate the idea of one of these in the hands of a novice, though. They are easy to get too tight. It is not meant to be a chambon, it is not a training device. It is strictly to keep the horse/pony's head up above their knees.

Finally a solution to a bad habit!
Not super long. Fits my 15’2 horse on the last hole. Doesn’t come with instructions but easy to figure out from photos. My horse -like others have said - formed this poor habit from previous owner. Cannot not break him of this ingrained vice. Have tried everything for 2 years! Finally i have a solution! He hates it. He pouts but it’s his new normal now. I’m 54 with a strong horse who is otherwise lovely. But I cannot be pulled out of the saddle and have to deal with constantly spurring or cropping him up. He’s too strong and it’s annoying and unsafe on our rides. Now a solution!!

Does it's job
The pony gives this a 0 out of 5 stars. It does it jobs great. I was worried it wasn't going to work well because my daughter rides her pony in a hackamore and I didn't know it was going to just pull the hack up her nose. My daughter is a pretty small 6 year old, so when her pony puts her head down to graze...pony wins. Not anymore! We actually like it so much we might get one for my older daughter's pony (also ridden in a hack) come spring.

Saving my shoulders
I'm a senior rider who has a loner pony who spent many years as a lesson pony.. His evasion is to drop his head hard in the hopes he can pull the reins out of his riders hands and then wander off. Since I'm not a beginner rider he was pulling my arms out of the sockets! He is now a reformed pony after only two rides and my arms are healing. I'm very satisfied. I'm sure these would also work very well to keep a horse from stopping to graze . My "pony" is 14.2 and these fit him very nicely. They're let out most of the way, but could go a little longer and can easily be shortened.

Win
My daughter has a large pony 14.2 that used to be a lesson horse. She learned a bad habit of pulling the reins out of children's hands. My little girl is only 6 1/2 and doesn't have the upper body strength to hold her frame when the mare pulls her tricks. These have helped very much. They still allow the horse to move her head though they are all the way lose as far as they can go without much room. All and all very happy with our purchase.
