Debussy: The Solo Piano Works

BBC Radio 3's "CD Review - Building a Library" in January 2014 recommended Ogawa's playing of "Images" as one of the best around. This is available on a single CD ("Collected Piano Music, vol. 1") for just under £11 on BIS CD1105. However, the current boxed set (BIS CD1955/56) of Ogawa's "Debussy: Collected Piano Works" is spread across 6 CDs at a price of just over £20 for the entire set - an absolute bargain. The playing is indeed a delight; I need to listen more to decide how it compares with Jean-Yves Thibaudet's version on Decca ("Complete Works for Solo Piano, vol 2") but, at a first listening, Ogawa's version is spine-tinglingly good. I only wish that it had been delivered sooner - ordered 09 Feb 2014, delivered 09 April 2014 - but the wait was well worth it. Patience, they say, is a virtue and in this instance was very well rewarded.

Having not received item yet I can confidently give it five stars as Noriko has been my piano teacher at Chethams and I have played Debussy in her master classes she is a wonderful pianist and a lovely person. My reason for writing is I'm shocked to have been charged nearly double the amount stated when I ordered I thought I was paying £33 they've actually taken £40. Which I find upsetting and somewhat misleading not pleased . As its Noriko I'm sure it'll be well worth it but it's not fair to charge differently other than what's stated on the item

MUSIC EXCELLENT but metadata programme lists on computer all in Chinese - rarewaves not interested i this !
