This round stone sharpener design is similar to others on Amazon (the other was white). I compared sharpness using 2 identical knives and this unit was a distant 2nd. It seems that the stone in this unit had a larger grain size in its stone wheel. That makes it grind faster, and last longer, but cannot achieve the ultimate in sharpness. The stone wheel is thicker than other round stone sharpeners, so it may last longer. However, there is almost no gap between the stone and the wheels, so it is difficult to slide a knife in far enough to ensure the proper angle.There were two sharpeners in the package and one was broken into two pieces plus some stone grains as noted in the photo. The packaging did not protect the unit during transport - or maybe from rough handling (maybe a robot picker in the warehouse?) Besides the break, the ease of scraping grains off the stone wheel indicates a need for a stronger binding agent in manufacturing.

Product was cheap and think it will break soon.

The product does not function. It is supposed to roll while knife slides between roller. It will not roll, rendering it useless.

One star is too much. Don't waste your money or time sending this back.

Didn’t sharpen my knives because the first one broke during the first use. The second one did the same. I don’t know what kind of stone is used in this thing but it literally disintegrated. Don’t waste your money

I used this on a few pairs of scissors that had gotten dull over the years. Worked well, you need to run the edges through the sharpener for a few minutes to sharpen. Very useful.
