No assembly, which was great, but the color is not as advertised - more of a vanilla off-white/creamy yellow. Definitely NOT white - see the photo for comparison with my (actually) white rug.

Absolutely love it! It is even more beautiful in person, well made, and the fabric is so soft! It goes so well in my home office. I could not love this ottoman more!
