I have not found a formula for liquid soap that is to my liking. I have a front loading machine, so I just throw 1/8 to 1/4 cup in with the clothes and do not use the soap dispenser built into my washer.If you use softener or bleach, they can go into the dispenser as usual. I have a well with very hard water but the clothes still come out looking and smelling great and probably will last longer too. **Q: Can this be used on silk?** A: I would not advise it. Silk is a natural fiber that will tend to dry out and turn stiff - like your natural hair would - because, with a pH of 9-14, this soap is too alkaline. Silk should be cleansed with a neutral soap or detergent with a pH between 5 and 9. **Q: Can this be used in he washing machine** A: I’ve read several places that it’s good for HE machines. I don’t have one so I have no first hand knowledge. My understanding is that powdered detergents in general are hard on the machine, they just don’t dissolve; grate it or melt into a liquid doesn’t cause harm. I use flakes, glad to use a soap that’s safe. **Q: Will it remove yellow sweat stains from thick white uniforms?** A: Yes, you just have to scrub it by hand then put your clothes in the regular wash. This soap is awesome!
