Q: Why are patch cables made of such thin wire? 22AWG is really meagre.

I don't know what your application is, but plain RCA patch cables are usually made with 26AWG wire. This is actually an RG59 coax cable designed for megahertz signals. In other words, it is already complete overkill for audio connections.

And in the case of a cold air return where gases released if the cable is exposed to fire could be spread to the whole house, Plenum (added fire retardant) is usually required by code. Technically two separate cables fused together; you could pull them completely apart and have two independent cables if desired.

もう少し柔軟性が欲しい

信号は何とか通じましたが余りにもケーブルが固くRCA端子がゆるゆるでペンチで整形しなければ信号が通じず直ぐに抜けてしまいました追伸 RCA端子部を丁寧に整形し2本束ねてあるテープを外しケーブルを1本にすれば何とか使えるようですDACからイヤホンアンプの接続に使いましたが問題なく使えそうです追伸2 RCA部の固い所を整形しなおし各部をアルコールで清掃をすると此れ迄と違って音楽が美しく聞こえるような感じがします星を5個にします
