Can you be more specific about the capsules, rather than just veggie caps? I'm emptying out the acid but want to use the caps orally.

This is to be inserted into the vagina only. These are not to be taken orally. Vegetable caps disintegrates with vaginal fluids and the boric acid helps settle the ph level of said vaginal fluids.

What happens to the capsule after insertion? Does it dissolve?

Yes, it dissolves. The capsule is vegetable based and dissolves completely after about 20min to an hour. That releases the powder which mostly dissolved but some might end up in your underwear. I recommend wearing a pad or panty liner. Your vagina will start flushing itself and will produce a lot of watery discharge. It will feel like sweating. I usually insert before bed. In most cases, I feel better as soon as the powder starts dissolving.

Veggie caps are made from vegetable cellulose. They do not contain gelatin, which is derived from animal products. I strongly advise you NOT to use these capsules orally .Even if you take the acid out there will be residue left inside the capsule. Boric acid is not intended to be taken orally
