The build quality is excellent. The only drawback is the table mount — attaching or removing it can be a bit difficult. If they introduced an easier mechanism for this, it would be perfect.

I bought this arm primarily for its ability to reach up and over my 32" monitor. It does not disappoint. This is a solid bit of engineering and way more robust than is needed for my piddly little lightweight shotgun mic. I've used a cheap spring loaded scissor arm before but was never happy with its ability to lock into the right spot. Even the more upmarket spring arms don't have the reach of this Raubay Arm. Different designs - different tasks. I see no reason why this should not do a good job for supporting heavier equipment as indicated in the product photos. Maybe ........ a better ballhead will be needed if you'll be constantly adjusting it but, that's only a maybe.
