Not elastic on the whole strap, which is better in some ways as it fits but doesn't constrict. Really useful for dog treats. I have a separate one for phone keys etc. in order to keep them treat free. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lightweight, snug fit *by S***H on 15 November 2018* Fits what I wanted to in it (phone, keys, loose change etc) and sits firmly and snug in place with the pack sitting against my back. I did find the strap quite confusing and incredibly long.
