Compared to my old coffee grinder, the KitchenAid is quiet. It's also extremely well made and is very attractive. It produces a perfect grind with fresh coffee beans, which is the main thing I was looking for. I haven't used it for anything else, although I guess you can also grind up all many of other types of beans, spices, nuts, etc. The only thing that continues to bug me about coffee grinders (in general) is they don't put a some sort of non-stick coating on the inside, to prevent the ground up coffee from sticking to the grinding container. You have to use the handle end of a spoon or something else, to break loose the ground up coffee. My previous grinder had that same issue, and I can only assume that a coating of some sort is just not desirable (for whatever reason). I'm actually thinking about getting a hand grinder to try out, since they all seem to be VERY highly rated. Given how quiet this grinder is, how nice it looks and that it matches my KitchenAid coffee maker (they look very nice next to each other), I gave this one 5 stars. I still wish they put some sort of coating on the inside to help prevent the coffee from sticking. No big deal though, as it's easy to break loose.

I never used to grind my own coffee until I discovered how much fresher and tastier it tastes than pre-ground bags of coffee from the grocery stores. I used to use a manual grinder but it gets tiring and can take awhile depending on how much you intend to grind. My fiancé recommended I buy the same one as him as I could also buy a separate attachment for grinding spices and herbs (which is very important to me both as a baker and gardener). I have not regretted buying this whatsoever as it makes grinding coffee an absolute breeze and unlike a previous electric grinder of a different brand that stopped working after two uses, this one is easy to clean as well as empty the grinds. The only minor annoyance I have with this grinder is that the grinds at the bottom almost end up powdery if you use it too long or you don't stop and stir the grinds around in between spurts of grinding. Very pleased with this product and I highly recommend it to anyone who's new to the world of grinding your own coffee beans!

This product stoped working after 2 months. I contacted the seller and their reply was this: "Dear Sir/Ma'am, Apologies for the inconvenience, The model of coffee grinder you are having is out of India model so this product we are unable to provide the service not under warranty or chargeable basis. Kindly contact where you have purchased it they will assist you with that." So this product does not have any technical support in India. Not worth buying it.
