I was already very familiar with this product before purchasing from Amazon -- used to buy at "brick and mortars" purely from habit. But because the bottle is heavy and somewhat bulky to lug home, the convenience of Amazon delivering right to one's doorstep cannot be denied. My delivery arrived speedily with nary a leak or spill. Unscrew the safety cap (press down as you turn) and you will find a magic brown elixir within -- more viscous than molasses because it pours "slower than molasses." As the mixture plops and slurps its way out of the bottle, the deep, rich fragrance of ocean fish rises up, filling the nostrils in a pleasant way. I suppose you could say it's stinky, but this is a clean smell, quite bracing to the senses, not in any way fermented, rotted, spoiled, or stomach-churning. If you have ever spent time at the ocean or in a fishmonger's shop, you know what I mean. It's dimensional: very much a fragrance rather than a smell. All plants love a good fish dinner. As far as they're concerned, the dinner they get from this bottle is prime. They quickly let you know it's good chow and they'd appreciate more if you have it. The more they get, the happier they are. The product is safe, gentle, all natural, non-burning. I never measure. I simply put a goodly amount in my watering can, maybe enough to cover the bottom, whatever feels right. Then I dump in other nutrients, both liquid and powdered, depending on "who" I'm feeding, and we're good to go. Because I live in the desert, I water deeply both before and after feeding with my hose to ensure maximum absorption through the roots. This is a wonderful product. It is full strength, not watered down. Highly recommend.

My figs absolutely love this stuff! I use it every three weeks to supplement my regular fertilizer regiment. They respond really well during the spring when my plants are waking from dormancy and need their waking nutrients. Be warned that it smells really strong and the scent lingers. My dogs love the smell and always try to get into my plants afterwards. The large bottle can be a pain when pouring and can create a mess. I suggest using a small cup first. I transfer it to my watering can along with soluble plant food.

Good price, great fertilizer

I have purchased this many times and still have some on hand, though I now prefer Salmon emulsion. It comes well-packaged to avoid spillage---but---don't open or use it inside you home. It has a nasty smell. Follow the instructions prior to using it and wear a pair of waterproof gloves---you don't want this on your hands. I use fish emulsion rainwater "tea" weekly. I combine it with kelp extract (dry seems to be the best value---just save an old gallon jug for mixing and storing it), and Texas Tomato Food fertilizer. Avoid using tap water, or let it sit for a day or so to remove chlorine. Only a tiny amount of each is needed so it goes a long way making it a great value for your money. Fish emulsion lasts for years. I fertilize just before a rain or use well water to rinse it in to remove any odor. Saved rainwater is the best for growing plants. I have experienced vigorous, healthy, productive plant growth that makes the vegetable gardens of my past pale in comparison. The greenness and appearance of your garden will amaze you. My sweet pepper plants easily reach 6 to 8 feet tall and are full of peppers to the top. Grow them closely together or a distance apart in full sun---they seem to like it either way. Mine are close together. Usually, it's hard to see the peppers because of the bushy plants. Very dry hot summers still result in plants that are 5 feet tall. Mulch is key to keeping the soil cooler and moist---reducing watering. I use approx. 4 to 6 inches of mulch between plants and rows to avoid those disheartening summer weeds that can quickly overtake a garden. Don't use hay as it might increase the number of weeds in the garden, and might contain weed-killing chemicals that can kill a garden. Teach a child to grow plants. This product was thick when poured. It has a very funny fish smell, to the point I couldn't keep it inside so I decided to use it and keep it covered really well outside. I did see a difference in my plants growing after 2 uses. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep using the product because a raccoon found the fertilizer and attacked it. I can tell you that I'm so glad I found it before the hot summer came all the way because the clean up efforts and smell would have been extremely bad. I would recommend though, based on the growth rate that I saw in my passion fruit tree after the two uses.

Works great as an organic grower.

This stuff is AMAZING! This spring was the first time I have ever heard of this stuff. I have flowers, trees, and shrubs all over my yard. I was always proud of how healthy and pretty they were. Especially the blooming plants. I always thought that they had pretty good size blooms and grew to an impressive size. Until I tried this stuff! I am not exaggerating when I say that every flower/plant/tree that I put this on grew TRIPLE the size they normally do. And that was after ONLY ONE treatment. I was floored in the difference it made. I have used 2 bottles so far this year and waiting on my shipment to arrive with my third bottle. I don't necessarily follow the directions as far as how much to use. I play it by ear. But I think that I may use more than necessary on some of my flower beds. So a 32 oz bottle may last longer than it does if I used the suggested amounts. WARNING....IT SMELLS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! It smells like a fishing pier....like dead fish. So if smells bother you, beware. But I can get past the smell because of the results. Also, make sure that you don't get any (or at least as little as possible) on your plants leaves and blooms. Because they seem to not like it. I have noticed that a few of my plants leaves look burnt when I got some of it on them. If you do, just simply rinse the product off of them and they'll be fine. I guarantee that you won't be disappointed if you try this stuff!
