Use a 1/8 bit, EVEN if you end up enlarging the holes for wall anchors for best accuracy. Once the hinge side is up, you SLIDE the two sections wider to meet the latch side and position the latch pieces with the double sided tape. Open it wide, drill pilot holes and put in the screws and fiddle with the Allen screws in the two sections to get it to close perfectly, which mine did. Hint, do the top latch first, an lightly draw around it with a pencil, in case the double sided tape doesn't hold while you are drilling. It looks nice, work VERY smoothly, the installation "sticky templates" make it goof proof. I bought 6 boxes of these to use along our bulkhead to stop my blind dog from walking into the canal. I wanted something unobtrusive that wouldn't block the view. As others stated, you do have to screw the legs into the fence part. Time consuming but not difficult. I built them in the kitchen on the counter and could build a box of 24 in around 10 minutes. The quality is not bad. About what you would expect at this price point. The downside is as others have stated. The legs don't screw far enough into the nut on the fence part to be stable. However, I received 3 boxes with the short nut and 3 with a longer nut. The longer nut makes a HUGE difference. My husband built the first box and complained about the nut. I built the second box and had no problem. My box had the larger nut his had the smaller.
