Better than my Humminbird, thought it'd be the other way around.

I have 2 of these, the 9” with mapping and the 7” that came without mapping. Both units have micro sd slots so I assumed I could use my mapping chips in both but only the 9” was able to read the mapping software, the 7” that came without maps doesn’t seem to be able to read my navionics chip. Since it’s my trolling motor unit and not at the helm it’s no problem really, but consider that if you plan to use at the helm.

When setting up the unit I discovered the transducer was sending intermittent signals to the Hook Reveal 7 unit. I tested everything I could and concluded it was a transducer malfunction. I contacted Lowrance by phone (Not easy to find their number) and was told to send in information about the purchase and serial numbers as well as a description of the problem. That was all legitimate so I did the same and sent pictures of everything that was pertinent. The response was within 24 hours which is good. The tech asked me to update the software and try a few things. He also asked for my mailing address as if he knew it was probably the transducer but wanted to be thorough. I totally get that. I did what was asked and emailed it to the tech. The next day I received an email from the tech stating that their records show my unit has past its 1 year warranty. Now I'm upset. I purchased the unit last week and already sent them a copy of the receipt. They have yet to respond. All I wanted was a replacement transducer, but not I will return the entire unit to Amazon and let them deal with Lowrance. I have been a lifelong Lowrance user but I will never purchase their products ever again.
