Has anyone used this on a clear plastic kitchen appliance? I just ruined a bit of plastic with nail varnish remover and it’s all gone milky now.

The worse thing you can do is put a cellulose solution like nail polish remover on plastic. I think you may have done a lot of damage but you can try the 3m product which is very good

How can I test if the hazziness on from the inside or outside if my headlamp glass before ordering this item?

You will find the haziness is on the outside of the lamp and if you use the 3m product as instructed you will get a really good result

I don’t have a common household drill, can I still do the job with this set of kit please?

Yes,you sand light by hand from lowest to highest grit until its smooth and milky looking,making sure its wet all the time paper and light,then you can spray with clear gloss that protects from uv,I do my headlites this way all the time don't use a kit any headlight restorer cream and from 800 to 3000 grit paer and the clear gloss,lasts alot longer then using these kits I do mine around 5 yrs hope this helps,this is my personal preference and not everyone's
