It is not easy to push the backs the entire way up the wire. Seems like maybe they were meant for studs, but I haven't tried that yet. The case they came in was impossible for me to open. I eventually had to cut the latch off with scissors in order to open the case. The box they come in seems sturdy enough and is easy to open and close. It is small enough to fit in a jewelry box or tucked away.
