COOAU Solar Security Cameras Wireless Outdoor, 2K 360° Home Surveillance

I bought this camera without expecting too much and honestly it surprised me. The setup was very easy and I connected it to my phone pretty fast. The video quality looks really clear during the day, and the night vision is actually pretty good too. One thing I really like is the battery life, and the solar panel helps a lot so I don’t have to keep charging it all the time. The 360 movement is also useful because it covers a bigger area than normal cameras. The motion alerts come quickly and so far it’s been working great outside in both rain and hot weather. For the price, I think it’s definitely worth it. Highly recommend.

I just purchased the Cooau C5 - I did some looking around at a bunch or makes and models. This one had what I was looking for. I wasn't familiar with the brand so I did some comparing and on paper = Looks very good. Also - Thank everyone who posted a review - That was a big factor. So I figured I would try it. It only took 2 days to arrive. I usually don't get excited about orders, but this, I was looking forward too. I opened it right away and already was impressed. The packaging was great. The could have drop kicked it off the truck - and I don't think it would have affected the camera. Installation was a snap = literally only 2 screws. I downloaded the app - Very straight forward with the steps exactly as shown - Everything connected easily - Wifi, camera, login and syncing the camera was all of 15 min and straight forward - no Youtubing to figure it out. After everything was set - I put up the camera - again only 2 screws and was up and running in 30 min. Now I get to play - Visual were pretty good - Better than I anticipated. However - I wasn't impressed and the motion detection didn't seem to work. So I started to go int specs, adjustments, re boot the router and didn't seem to change. I thought maybe it's placed too high - It's 10' off the ground - so I climbed the step latter to take it down and BINGO - I my haste I pulled a rookie mistake. I forgot to pull off the protective film covering the lens. As happy as I was - It was user error. I was even more amazed at how nice the picture was with the film on - but with it off - Absolutely amazing - very clear - even zooming in at 25-30 feet was great.It's been up for 3 days now and I am very satisfied with this product. I will keep you posted after some tweaking time. Now to top that - there Customer Service is top notch - I sent in the warranty about 2am EST - I had a reply within a couple hours, Cooao had listed in the ad to email them for a Thanksgiving special. So I did - again, the replied right away - Not just a thank you customer email, But a personable, freindly, We appreciate your patronage and are here for what questions or needs that might come up. I felt like family. A rare quality now a days. I may even add them to my Christmas card list. Hmmmm. Seriously - An excellent camera - Does exactly what I needed and want it to do. GREAT Camrea - GREAT Customer Service - GREAT to be a Happy Customer. I hope this helps if you are considering the C5 Camera.

I didn't install the camera for almost a year after I bought it to monitor my trailer at my campground. My bad. The battery still charged up and the camera connected with no problems. It was easy to install and works fine. Only problem is I have a tracker blocker installed on my android device and Google keeps trying to download information on the COOAU APP I downloaded from the play store.

I purchased two of these wireless solar security cameras for video security at a rental property. I am impressed with the quality of the camera and its IP66 rating. Be aware this camera only operates on 2.5GHZ WIFI band. This is not uncommon for wireless cameras and it actually increases the distance you can place the camera from the router. The Quick Start Guide is pretty good but you will have to read it carefully as a couple of the steps are a bit quirky. The setup using the downloaded app was not difficult but be aware that if you choose to use a micro SD memory card to store data you must insert the card first before turning the camera on for initial setup. Plug the camera charging cable which is provided in to a USB2 or USB3 adapter (not provided) and turn it on to start the setup through the mobile app. You are limited to 128GB maximum cards and I would recommend purchasing a new, well known brand name ( Sandisk, Samsung, PNY etc.) to save yourself from potential incompatibility issues. They are relatively inexpensive. The camera will ask for permission to format the new SD card for FAT32 during the initial setup. Agree and let it do its thing. Because the C5 camera has an attached fixed angle solar charging panel, placement is important to be sure you get enough light to keep the onboard battery charged as well as getting the optimal viewing area for your needs. Placement is also critical for getting adequate WIFI signal from your router. COOAU recommends at least 85% WIFI signal strength to the camera and you can get a pretty good idea of what signal strength you are getting at the camera within the mobile app. The camera had to be moved around the area a few times to find the sweet spot with consistent 4 to 5 bar signal level for my application. Take your time with this step because sometimes repositioning the device just a few feet in any direction can drastically change the WIFI signal strength If you have many devices sharing the WIFI signal on your network or if your router is far from the camera location you may want to consider a separate dedicated router or WIFI booster placed closer to your camera(s). Newer Low E glass windows and doors have a coating which can interfere with WIFI and cellular signal to any WIFI device or cell phone so keep that in mind as well when figuring out your camera location to get the optimal connectivity. There is a learning curve to using the mobile app to control the camera and view files. It's not the most intuitive app and there will be some trial and error when setting up your alert and notification parameters. Not a great deal of detail in the User Guide for how to use the app but once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy to use. Although I have not needed to contact customer support for assistance the manufacturer says they will respond quickly to inquiries and requests for tech help. The basic mobile app has free six second video clips and an alert notification is sent when you have motion detection set up. There are optional cloud video storage and advanced video and alert packages available and the cost seems reasonable if that's the route you choose to go. The battery life is exceptional so far and the new generation solar charging panel works very well to keep the battery charged even on cloudy days. The 2K camera resolution is very good even at night. There are multiple adjustable sensitivity levels which may need some tweeking to get the best setting for you. There is an Automatic function which can be selected to let the camera learn and adjust to the area being viewed. This works well when there is the possibility of high traffic at various times to keep from getting too many alert notifications. There is a two way speaker and a alarm horn which can be turned on or off as desired. I am able to monitor the cameras from anywhere using the mobile app. This is a very good outdoor security camera choice at a very reasonable price. I will buy additional ones for other remote locations

Edit 6/8/26 seller reached out (no I didn’t reach out to them) they fixed everything and I am very happy with the results. They are very easy to set up. The app walks you through the process. The video quality is very good. I can view them anywhere I have cell service. Original 3 star review - They do not detect all movement. I have had quite a few Amazon deliveries that didn’t get detected. The view is set right on the porch and driveway and the mask is set to detect all movement within that view. There is no way to sidestep it. There are times when I will walk out the door and it won’t detect my movement until I go back inside a minute or two later. Sometimes the camera disconnects and I can’t get it to reconnect. Then an hour or 3 it will decide to do it on its own. At least when it disconnects it still acts like a motion detecting camera so that’s kinda a plus. But now it’s past time for a return. The video quality is very good in the 6 seconds you get to view any movement without subscribing to their cloud services even with a 256gb sd card installed. They are pretty easy to install and set up. I have 2 of them the rear camera I haven’t had any issues with. That’s why it gets 3 stars.

Bought this so I can keep an eye on my dog in his outdoor kennel when I wasn't home. I did have to buy a separate pole attachment to set it up in there but that went fine and everything was simple. The solar powering works well. It's not exactly in direct sunlight but it is far from shaded. It has been set up since mid November 2025 and it has stayed charged up to this point so far. You don't have to have any subscriptions for at least the live feed on its app which was fine with me. The video and sound quality has been great on my phone. There is directional buttons in the user interface so you can pan the camera in all directions if needed and a speaker so you can talk to whoever is on that end. Very happy with the product.

I have several solar cameras none are the same. On the most part you get what you pay for used to be the rule not anymore this camera is a little hard to set up but they have great support if you need them. What I like about this camera is the picture quality it is awesome and it's approximately 148 ft from my router there's about a two to four second lag on connection from my phone, but it doesn't miss anything and sends notifications to my phone when it activates would recommend this camera to anyone.

Very good camera with a few exceptions. First, it holds a charge very well. I wasn’t expecting the solar panel to be this good in the winter. Never had to manually recharge it. Setup was easy enough. I had to drill into my brick wall next to my garage and was able to eventually mount it there. It snapped right in after I set the mount. I was worried that mounting it too close to the awning of the garage would impact the solar charge. Nope, still charges like a champ. App setup and pairing with WiFi was easy. I enjoy the app quite a bit and the notifications are helpful. Now keep in mind this is a cheap dad talking, so take that for what it’s worth… it only saves 6 seconds of video and only takes snapshots IF you haven’t paid for the monthly cloud service on the app. You can get around that with a SD card. But the cost is somewhere around $6 per month. If you want full time video recording saved for 30 days, it’s like $15 per month. Not a huge deal, but it’s worth noting if you aren’t expecting this. I have installed a SD card that seems to be doing a good job at saving more video if I’m away. Good video quality for sure, and it takes both night vision and color video that’s very sensitive at night. See from the photo I included here that it captured a raccoon on the street and in the video it caught my dogs sneaking out of the house. Cool features. The fact that I can control the camera angles from the app is a plus. There’s a security alarm function that could scare away intruders with either a sound alarm, a light flashing, or both. if you’re away and it also allows you to talk to people next to the camera via the app with ok sound quality. It’s been fun to scare my kids as they walk by the camera lol. So overall it’s a great value, just be mindful of the cost of cloud storage if you weren’t expecting that part.

J'ai acheté deux cameras COOAU Produit de haute qualité, fonctionne très bien, fait son travail. Autonomie solaire est géniale. Possède beaucoup de fonctionnalité pour un prix très intéressant. Qualité vidéo et sonore parfaites. Installation très facile et très simple d'utilisation. A recommander vivement.

Genial, fácil instalación y configuración, muy buena carga de batería, buena calidad imagen, buen rango de Wifi, un soporte que facilita retirar la cámara, funcionamiento, calidad precio genial, y tan practica al no necesitar alimentación externa. A parte y gratuitamente me han entregado un panel solar extra para poder alimentar la cámara en casos de poca cobertura solar, he de poner la cámara en un lugar mas sombrío, y con el panel extra genial !

Ich verwende die COOAU 2K Überwachungskamera mittlerweile schon eine Weile im Außenbereich und bin mit der Leistung bisher sehr zufrieden. Die Einrichtung war schnell und unkompliziert: Kamera anbringen, App herunterladen, mit dem WLAN verbinden – und schon ist sie einsatzbereit. Besonders angenehm finde ich den Akkubetrieb, da dadurch keine zusätzliche Stromleitung verlegt werden muss. Auch die Bildqualität kann sich sehen lassen. Sowohl bei Tageslicht als auch in der Dunkelheit liefert die Kamera ein scharfes und detailreiches Bild. Die Farbnachtsicht gefällt mir dabei besonders gut, da man nachts wesentlich mehr erkennen kann als bei einer klassischen Schwarz-Weiß-Aufnahme. Dank der Schwenk- und Neigefunktion mit 355°/90° lässt sich zudem ein großer Bereich überwachen. Die Bewegungs- und Personenerkennung arbeitet zuverlässig und verhindert viele unnötige Fehlalarme. Sobald eine Bewegung erkannt wird, erhalte ich zeitnah eine Benachrichtigung auf meinem Smartphone. Auch bei wechselhaftem Wetter mit Regen und Wind hat die Kamera bislang problemlos funktioniert. Das IP66-zertifizierte Gehäuse wirkt robust und gut für den Einsatz im Freien geeignet. Alles in allem bietet die COOAU 2K eine umfangreiche Ausstattung, eine gute Verarbeitung und eine überzeugende Bildqualität zu einem angemessenen Preis. Wer eine flexible und kabellose Überwachungskamera für den Außenbereich sucht, bekommt hier meiner Meinung nach eine sehr gute Lösung. 👍

太陽光発電パネルが一体化されているので、設置が簡単です。 半面、発電のために設置場所が限定されるというデメリットもあります。 (この為、USB端子利用の”外付け太陽光パネル”も要求により入手可能) 各種設定は、日本語マニュアルがないので少し大変そうですが、色々トライしてできました。 耐久性については、未だ評価できるだんかいではありませんので”☆ー１”としました。

Jag måste faktiskt berätta att jag var lite tveksam när jag skulle köpa det här kameran för att jag vill ha en kamera som har stabil som man kan lita på, men jag valde ändå köpa en kamera för att testa och testet visade att den var ju riktigt bra och den uppfyller mina alla förväntningar Det är enda mina grejen på den att man måste ju kappa konto och promenera för att kunna ha tillgång till fulla Kamera inspelningar. Så för mig är den en bra bild och stabil kamera, därför har jag beställt fem stycken till. WiFi kopplingen är grymt bra 👍
