Paste for Chicken Curry

Great product using milk instead of water gives a milder spice kick if you don't like Hot!

This stuff is perfect for a quick meal. I've been doing chicken on the grill, chopping it up, and mixing it with this. Super simple and very tasty!

Good stuff. An Indian friend introduced us to this years ago, and we are glad to find it again on Amazon.

I really enjoyed this curry. I made it on the stove top following all the directions and using chicken tenderloins instead of breasts. At first it looked, to my wife, that it was going to be too watery but it did cook down and was maybe a tad too thick. We eat all sorts of different curries from various cultures. I cannot tell you this is the most authentic Indian curry that you will ever have but it is a very reasonable attempt at Indian curry made at home. There is a bit of heat in the aftertaste but nothing like "Bob's blazing curry" where it is all heat and no flavor. I found it to be very enjoyable for a Indian curry I made at home. I found that the Seeds of Change curry line is also very good if you are looking for more options.

This Six Pack of prepared spices for making chicken curry is another in the recent increase in products making ethnic cuisine easier to make. Usually the added convenience is at the expense of flavor, e.g.-microwaveable frozen chicken curry. When trying to get authentic flavor without spending an inordinate amount of time, there are many products (e.g., Shan) which give you packs of prepared spice mix. However, most of these require the addition of other spices (i.e., garlic and ginger paste) making the cooking process more time consuming. Kitchen's of India Curry Paste gives you all the spices that one needs to make chicken curry that tastes just like mom's. In fact, mom ordered a package! Total time from addition of chicken and water is about 40 minutes and the results are great. Each package gives you enough for a meal for two. Only drawback is that you can't reduce the "chili hotness" without reducing flavor of other spices; however, this curry paste is milder than most similar products. If anything, you may want to add some chili pepper to taste. Overall a great product for quickly and relatively inexpensively making authentic Indian chicken curry.

This is our favorite Indian Curry packet. It is strong but great for people who like strong Indian curry flavors.

I have ordered Kitchens of India products before (butter chicken and the rajma masala kidney bean curry) and have been pleased. Due to the good reviews for this product and my previous experiences with KoI, I didn't hesitate to purchase this. However, it's not really what I had expected. It's not as good as the butter chicken paste is, nor does it smell as good. This chicken curry paste is also VERY salty; I had to add more rice and vegetables to my bowl because I couldn't handle the salt. The flavor is strong, though not spicy, and I think that the butter chicken is much more balanced in terms of spices and flavor and I wish that I had purchased that instead. Still, this is easy and quick to prepare and while it doesn't taste great it's still decent, which warrants its 3 stars.

My first experience with Kitchens of India was with their Curry Paste Variety Pack. Of those, my favorite was the Chicken Curry so this time I bought only the Chicken Curry Paste. It is very easy to use. Put the paste in a pan, blend with water, and your chicken, and soon you'll have a very good and authentic tasting chicken dish. For someone like me who's favorite kitchen appliance is the microwave oven this is great. I've only been able to eat Indian Cousine a few times in a restaurant but the spicy, delectable foods were memorable. Using this curry paste allows me to bring that flavor to my kitchen, it contains all the seasonings so nothing needs to be added unless you want to kick it up a bit. I'll sometimes add a little extra red pepper and curry powder for that extra bit of heat that I love. It's a great product at a great price and I plan to keep it stocked in my kitchen.
