The LEGO Icons McLaren MP4/4 & Ayrton Senna set (10330) is an absolute triumph and a must-have for any Formula 1 enthusiast or discerning LEGO builder. This isn't just a model; it's a meticulously crafted homage to one of the most dominant cars and one of the most legendary drivers in the history of motorsport. From the moment you open the box, the build is an engaging journey. The engineering is clever, utilizing smart techniques to capture the iconic, low-slung profile of the MP4/4. Watching the detailed V6 Honda engine come together piece by piece is a particular highlight, showcasing a level of detail that is truly impressive for a set of this scale. The inclusion of working steering and suspension adds a fantastic layer of authenticity and playability. The finished model is simply stunning. The iconic red and white livery is captured beautifully, and LEGO has thankfully used printed pieces for key areas, minimizing the reliance on stickers. The car looks incredible from every angle, and the included display stand, which holds the model at a dynamic angle, turns it into a true collector's display piece. What elevates this set from great to legendary is the inclusion of the Ayrton Senna minifigure. Presented on its own podium-style stand with a photo and a poignant quote from the driver, it's a thoughtful and respectful tribute that adds immense emotional value. For its price, the set delivers an exceptional building experience and a display piece that is both historically significant and visually striking. It's a checkered flag finish for LEGO. Highly recommended!
