Red Vines Licorice Candy Original Red Flavor Soft Chewy Candy Twists, Red Licorice 3.5 Lb Jar

This product tastes quite good. ALMOST as good as the licorice jelly bellys I used to have as a kid. Brings back nostalgia. The texture is nice and soft. The product feels and smells very fresh. If you're someone that gets addicted to candy, be careful because you might end up eating half the container. It is quite addictive. The size of the container is much bigger than expected. The amount I ended up with from this one container is going to last me quite a while. No regrets buying this.

What can you say, if you love the vines, you have to have them. They are one of my all time favorites. The jar is a good size and it keeps them fresh. Jar last a little more than a month in my house. Great value for quantity.

These are the best! Fresh, chewy and flavorful

I was used to Twizzlers brand black licorice ropes. The first time I tried this brand, RedVines black licorice, I did not enjoy it. It is very light, hollow, and has a sweeter after taste than what I was used to. I kept eating them (in shock repulsion) and surprisingly after several tries I grew to love them. Consider that these are made with corn syrup sweetened wheat flour and anise plus licorice flavoring extracts. The first bite is when you notice the texture most. Keep in mind that the licorice flavor tends to hit a little later. If you are used to the alternatives brands, this is where you will notice how very different they are. These are not near as chewy, are hollow and much lighter. They are also not as dense. After chewing for a moment, you will begin to taste the licorice and anise. It lacks the salty undertone that tampers the sweetness that you might notice in the other brand. It has a more sweet forward flavor. The anise is noticeable and that combined with the licorice leaves a very sweet and powerful aftertaste in the mouth. This may take some getting used to. Once I indulged in this candy several times I grew to like it and now enjoy it way more than Twizzlers brand. This brand will sometimes shred in the middle, but the candy is still very good if you enjoy black licorice and anise flavors. I can understand why someone would not like these but honestly after giving it some time I grew to love them and now they are one of my favorite snacks. I did notice that these were just slightly drier than the individual 4.5 ounce packages I buy in the store due to those being wrapped in smaller quantities and experiencing less exposure to air. Per pound, this product is only a few cents less expensive when including tax than in the local dollar store - 17 cents per pound to be exact. So they are a good bargain for now at this price but if you don't plan to consume them quickly then freshness might become an issue as they may continue to dry out. it might be a good idea to move small quantities to individual plastic bags to maintain freshness as these might dry out when they are exposed to more and more air as the container gradually becomes empty. Other than that, I do get why some people criticize this brand when they are used to a different brand of black licorice ropes. I hated these at first but I say try them a few times and see if they grow on you as they did me. I will definitely be buying these again.

Arrived fresh. Nice deal. These are definitely different taste compared to twizzler. They are good but not as good. Strong licorice taste which is good. Different texture . Happy with them.

I Love this licorice, brings back memories of the days of summer. The container was filled up to the rim. You really get a lot. The plus it was sugar free and not hard. Easy to eat and I will order Red Vine again.

Just arrived and I opened it up as soon as I got the Red Vines , What a Great Flavor, Fresh...They will not last very long as both my Wife and I Love these Red Vines Licorice
