Glossy. The cross also come in darkish or light shade. We love these beads. The whole family has them. They are highly recommended.

I don't really know. I love mine blessed or not. I like the simplicity of it and the smoothness in my fingers. Saying the Rosary is relaxing to me. This one does the trick. You could always get your priest to bless it.

Is the cross treated? I'm looking for one that can absorb essential oils.

The cross is not treated but is natural olive wood. It should be able to absorb oil but we've never tried it..
