This high quality gel coat contains the highest grade isophthalic NPG polyester resin and is more durable than standard orthopthalate resins. Isophthalate NPG resin is also preferred for superior strength, flexibility, water resistance, weather and chemical resistance and is used in many boat building, repairing, and repairing. - In general, 2% methyl ethyl ketone peroxide catalyst is the best amount for most working conditions, but the amount of catalyst can be adjusted according to the temperature. Add up to 3% of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide in cold conditions. If the temperature is hot or working for a long time, add 1% methyl ethyl ketone peroxide 8-12 minutes operating time at 77Β° Fahrenheit. Cured gelcoat can be buffed by removing wax or wet polishing to create an attractive high gloss protective finish.
