Too early to tell about long term quality but it does feel like it will last. I do a log of freeze drying and it has handled everything I have used it to slice fresh and frozen items with ease. The hopper design makes it easy to work with handfuls of chunks of food. For example, I buy large packages of ginger, peel and slice 4mm thick slices for freeze drying. With this, after peeling, I can toss in a handfuls of ginger in the hopper and slice them perfectly in a few seconds. It disassembles easily for cleaning and storage.
